Story
After four unremarkable decades in politics, Jeremy Corbyn stands on the brink of power. Until his surprise election as leader of the Labour Party in 2015, this seemingly unelectable oddball had not been a major political player. Since then, Corbyn has survived coup attempts and accusations of incompetence that would have felled most politicians, including grave charges of anti-Semitism, bullying and not being the master of his brief. Despite these shortcomings, as the Conservatives rip themselves apart over Europe, he is likely soon to become Britain's Prime Minister.

Biased and full of conjecture
Reviewed: 20-03-23
Updated at Chapter 8
The further into the book you listen, the more fiction is added. I have no issue with a journalist/author writing an article/book that paints a politician in a bad light PROVIDED that they have done the research and can back up the statements with facts. Unfortunately, there is very little tangible fact in this book. The majority is only biased opinion of the author or making a statement against another chacter then trying to link it to Corbyn.
Original Post:
Only listening to chapter 1 provides all the proof required that this is full of bias by the author. A lot of the content is based on conjecture, summarisation and speculation in the absence of evidence.
The author admits that the book is written in advance of the possibility that Corbyn could have been elected PM, and Tom Bower has thrown everything into the book in order to tarnish him.
Reading this straight after the book on Boris Johnson, there is a very different approach on how opinions are formulated.

Story
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother's coffin as the world watched in sorrow - and horror. As Diana, Princess of Wales, was laid to rest, billions wondered what the princes must be thinking and feeling - and how their lives would play out from that point on. For Harry, this is that story at last.

Don't Believe The Press - Decide For Yourself
Reviewed: 20-01-23
I approached this book the same way I do for all books, no preconceived ideas. Yes Harry was born into previleged family. Life isn't about where you start, it's the journey you take to arrive where you're at.
Personally, I'm not a royalist, have no interest in the monarchy or assessing the value they have in modern society. I've not seen any of the interviews. I'm also no fan of mainstream media, or the subjective reporting they sell us at the will of their paymasters.
About The Book
This is a really good autobiography. You're taken on a journey of the experiences through life. The events that have shaped Harry and the decisions he has taken. Okay, there might be some artist licence taken when setting the scenes but who can truly say? If this is taken as a first-hand account, as it should be, then it's a great listen/read.
I really enjoyed this book, narrated by the author, and would recommend it to everyone. For no other reason than its a great story of somebody else's life. As autobiographies go, it's one of the best I've listen to!

Great Story and Narration
Reviewed: 28-10-22
Firstly, I've seen a lot of reviews that have only given 1 star because the narrator is different to the first books, which is a shame. It took me all of 3 seconds to get over the fact.
This is yet another great book in the series, which keeps you engaged from start to finish. Does the narration do justice to the book and maintains the continuity? Yes it does (unless maybe you are binge listening).

Disappointing Compared to Author's Other Work
Reviewed: 04-05-22
I'm a big fan of the author and I'm working my way through his books on audible. This is very disappointing compared to his other books I've listened to. It is more like diary of a call girl than a suspense thriller. There is just no excitement to the story.
Can't fault the narration by Megan Soh but feel her job was made difficult due to the lack of quality in the story.
Can only assume that the author was either limited due to lockdowns during writing or pressed to meet a deadline to produce a new book.

Story
Penguin presents the audiobook edition of A Short History of Drunkenness by Mark Forsyth, read by Richard Hughes. Almost every culture on earth has drink, and where there's drink there's drunkenness. But in every age and in every place drunkenness is a little bit different. It can be religious, it can be sexual, it can be the duty of kings or the relief of peasants. It can be an offering to the ancestors or a way of marking the end of a day's work. It can send you to sleep or send you into battle.

While at first this was very interesting, I was disappointed to find that the authors had not carried out full research into the drunkenness in Britain and had not included the State Management Scheme that ran from 1916 to 1973. Instead, the authors seemed to focus on America's Prohibition that only lasted between 1920 to 1933.

Story
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.
