Story
A BBC Radio 4 comedy drama series with a stunning cast including Sheila Hancock, Mackenzie Crook, Penelope Wilton, Felicity Montagu and Kevin Eldon about a small town in the middle of Northamptonshire as it prepares for a talent night. 'North by Northamptonshire' was originally broadcast weekly from 16 June 2010 to 7 July 2010. In each episode we catch up with Rod, the local supermarket manager (Mackenzie Crook), who shares rather more than is usual about his private life over the store's tannoy system.

Perfect strangers. A perfect holiday. The perfect murder.... Three couples meet around the pool on their Florida holiday and become fast friends. But on their last night, their perfect holiday takes a tragic twist: the teenage daughter of another holidaymaker goes missing, and her body is later found floating in the mangroves. When the shocked couples return home, they remain in contact, and over the course of three increasingly fraught dinner parties they come to know one another better.

Story
Millie was at one time quite well known for various TV and radio appearances. However she now has no money, a best friend with a better sex life than her, a daughter in Papua New Guinea, and too much weight in places she really doesn't want it. When she's asked to be the frontwoman for a new diet pill, she naively believes that all her troubles will be solved. She will have money, the weight will be gone, and maybe she'll get more sex. If only life was really that easy.

I expected better. The bronchial narration without any narrative emphasis made what could have been a very funny book dreary. The plot was very promising.

Story
By 1535 Thomas Cromwell, the blacksmith's son, is far from his humble origins. Chief Minister to Henry VIII, his fortunes have risen with those of Anne Boleyn, Henry’s second wife, for whose sake Henry has broken with Rome and created his own church. In Bring Up the Bodies, Hilary Mantel explores one of the most mystifying and frightening episodes in English history: the destruction of Anne Boleyn.

Fantastic!!!

I was worried that this novel would not live up to the excellent standard of Wolf Hall! I must say that it is even better. It brings to life the double dealings and precarious positions in Henry v111 court. Thomas Cromwell -a much vilified historical figure, has his character very sympathetically portrayed. This is one that I will enjoy listening to again and again.

Kate Atkinson does not disappoint with this story where the main character has several opportunities to relive her life. The story is in true Atkinson style with lots of twists and turns and the narrator's voice is very soothing. If you have enjoyed this author's other novels, you should enjoy this.

This is the second book I have downloaded by this author. I can definately recommend to those listeners who enjoy novels by Ian Rankin. It took me a while to get used to the scottish accent, however, I think the narrator reads it with ecpression.

I got hooked on this comedy after hearing it on the radio. Each character is very well observed and plays an important part in each episode. While the scene for each episode is improbable, the humour and jokes make each episode funny and original. Definately a series that you can listen to over and over again.
