The Golden State Killer. The East Area Rapist. The Original Night Stalker. The Visalia Ransacker.
The monster who preyed on Californians from 1975 to 1986 was known by many aliases. And while numerous police sketches tried to capture his often-masked visage, the Golden State Killer spent more than 40 years not only faceless, but nameless.

Very well written account of the effort by law enforcement to catch the VR/EAR/Original night stalker.
It is amazing how many cold cases are being solved using DNA advances and this book covers all the highs and lows of the struggles faced by the investigators
A great read.

Story
Ben Novack, Jr., was born into a hotel empire, Miami's lavish Fontainbleau. But his luxurious, celebrity-studded lifestyle would ironically end in another hotel room - where the police found him bound up in duct tape, beaten to death. Seven years earlier, police found Novack in an eerily similar situation - when his ex-stripper wife Narcy duct-taped him to a chair for 24 hours and robbed him. Claiming it was a sex game, he never pressed charges and never followed through with a divorce.

Very well described and often gruesome details of this interesting case of the rich and famous marrying outside of their own class. The greed which that stoked in a remorseless woman is beyond comprehension. Some people will do anything for money. Well read and completely compelling story. Thank you.

So happy to find a second series of this book. This one is just as gripping as the first.
Great store lines, good character backgrounds and plenty of twists
Let’s hope series 3 is underway.

Loved the first series and listened to this straight after as I am now hooked. Love the mysterious background of Emily and can’t wait for more stories. Cobie is perfect for the main character.
Looking forward to more of these. Please.

Interesting book let down
Reviewed: 03-05-22
The audio version was let down by the over-dubbing with either correction or additional info on various sections of the book. I found it quite distracting as the voice over was at a different level or tone.
It was clear the author has done lots of research so it was a real shame as I will not purchase a follow up.

Story
Brian Blessed has a lifelong love of animals and over the years has rescued cats and dogs, horses and ponies, and even a very ungrateful fighting cock. All were characters in their own right, such as Jessie, a dog left languishing for a year at the local RSPCA, who ruled the entire household with a rod of iron, when she wasn't out harassing the local vicar.

An amazing look at the life and dedication to animals from the great Brian Blessed. This is one of my favorite books. I love hearing Brian talk about his experiences in life and how much love he has for all animal species from huge Orangutans to feisty cockerels. Possibly not for those with delicate sensibilities as he does use some rather colorful language, but in my opinion that makes it all the more personal to him. I love the idea that he is sitting opposite me and telling me his stories. Great audible book enhanced by the voice of the author.
