Not as good as six of crows, so start there, but if you want more from grisha verse, then read this after.

Very good, although some narrators did clash. As one narrator would make a character have a really deep voice and then another would give that character a soft voice.

1/2st half is brilliant when there's just one bob.
The 2nd half is a bit confusing with the multiple bobs protagonists.

All in all I would consider it an uncomplete story, making reading the 2nd book mandatory, as it is like a book chopped it half.

Also a bit pandering to nerds and the book also seem to allude towards eugenics.

The pace is very slow, which is unusual for a shortish book of 10 hours. I believe it's because of all the details and fleshed out background stories for each character. There's a lot of main characters that you have to contend with and it gets confusing quickly, so I did have to double back at certain stages, as I had gotten lost of who was who.

There's some good twists and turns, but sometimes Joyce and Elizabeth seem to solve stuff magically, which is disorientating as I had no idea how they worked some of the clues out.

Good first book to read for the start of a new year.

Good mainline story, weak side stories

I believe the story is meant to be like a dream sequence. You have the main story of Dream regaining all his powers and control of his domain after being trapped by Dr. Destiny. Then you have all these side plots that sort of interact with the main story and then you have side stories that are set throughout history, but are one chapter and have nothing to do with the main story.

The side stories are the weakest point and they were a slog to get through. There's several of them: One about cats wanting to take over the world, one about william shakespeare, one about some depressed women who was blessed by a sun god, one about Dream's ex-lover, one about a person dream gave immortality too and one about some dude who enslaves a women as his muse.

30% of the whole book is dedicated to these one chapter events that seem like filler, as they don't connect to anything, it's so jarring.

Struggled to finish this. The narrator talks in a boring monotone voice. The whole chimp, computer, goblins and planets just confuse matters rather than making it easier. I found there was a lack of real life examples and the book desperately needed an injection of wit.

Well I never expected to see another Jacques Mckeown book. I didn't know Yahtzee did sequels. The ending of this book makes me really want another sequel to finally find out who the real Jacques Mckeown is, even though this book wasn't as good as the first and knowing who Jacques really is could ruin these two stories.

Yahtzee is as awesome as ever and the book is as witty as ever, however the story didn't surprise and wow me like the first book, still it's a great listen.

I did struggle with this. What with the way the author wrote it. The names are also confusing as sometimes people are called by surnames or forenames and the names are complicated. Nor does it help that the author gives different people the same or similar names. The voice actor was great and I plan to listen to another dostoyevsky book read by this voice actor.

The narrators were perfect and I finished it in two days,as it was so gripping. Very good stuff I will have to buy the next one in the series.
