In a world engineered for the verbal thinker, those of us with a visual brain can often be overlooked and underestimated. In this landmark book, international bestselling author and activist Temple Grandin transforms our understanding of how our brains are wired differently. Dr Luke Beardon has put together an optimistic and upbeat guide that will be essential listening not just for any autistic adult, but for anyone who loves, lives with or works with an autistic person. Emphasising that autism is not behaviour, but at the same time acknowledging that there are risks of increased anxiety specific to autism, this practical audiobook gives clear strategies that the autistic person can adopt to minimise their anxiety and live comfortably in a world full of what may seem to be noise and chaos.

As an autistic person this was a really empowering listen. There were lots of points in this book when I thought yes, that’s definitely me! If I’m honest, I maybe feel floods of adrenaline maybe 20 times per day and this is the first book I’ve read in a while where I’m understanding why! I am without doubt in a better place for listening to this book! Thank you Luke for being an amazing advocate for autistic people!

Story
In Mindfulness, Bliss, and Beyond, self-described meditation junkie Ajahn Brahm shares his knowledge and experience of the jhanas - a core part of the Buddha's original meditation teaching. Never before has this material been approached in such an empowering way, by a teacher of such authority and popularity. Full of surprises, delightfully goofy humor, and entertaining stories that inspire, instruct, and illuminate, Mindfulness, Bliss, and Beyond will encourage those new to meditation, and give a shot in the arm to more experienced practitioners as well.

Story
Freedom from suffering is not only possible, but the means for achieving it are immediately within our grasp - literally as close to us as our own breath. This is the 2,500-year-old good news contained in the Anapanasati Sutra, the Buddha's teaching on cultivating both tranquility and deep insight through full awareness of breathing. In this book, Larry Rosenberg brings this timeless meditation method to life.

I’ve already listened to this book several times and I’m sure I’ll read it several more! Such a great read that had me constantly reflecting on my own practice which has become rather complex over the years. This book reminded me where and why I became Buddhist. Highly recommend 🙂

Story
This collection brings together for the first time Ajahn Chah's most powerful teachings, including those on meditation, liberation from suffering, calming the mind, enlightenment and the "living dhamma". Most of these talks have previously only been available in limited, private editions and the publication of Food for the Heart, therefore, represents a momentous occasion: the hugely increased accessibility of his words and wisdom.

The teacher of my teachers transmitting the dharma by example and deep understand of the path! This truly is an important book and should be read / listened to by anyone - Buddhist and non Buddhist alike! If you’re used to listening to teachers such as Ajahn Brahm you will find that you’re already familiar with Ajahn Chah.
I’ve read this book several times but listening to it as an audiobook created new ‘wow moments’. Amazing!
