Story
Nobody knew where it came from. Nobody knew why it came. When an eight-foot-tall man made of stone appears in the middle of a busy city center one July afternoon, two-bit (and antisocial) reporter Andy Pointer assumes it's just a publicity stunt. Indeed, so does everyone else...until the Stone Man begins to walk, heading silently through the wall of the nearest building, flattening it, and killing several people inside as a result.

Such a good tale. Weird as f**k but still, a great story.

How can a stone man who suddenly appears in Coventry turn into a 14 hour + audiobook and still keep me listening, I asked myself?
I’ve no idea but, it did. And, I’m sure it will for you too.
Great characters and decent pace.
Not sure I’d watch the movie, it would most likely spoil this experience for me.
If you’re wondering, like I did how this plot could keep going, give it a try. You won’t regret it.

Story
Declan dreams of becoming a writer. It's a dream that helps him escape the realities of his life—going through the motions at college and stacking supermarket shelves part-time, whilst fighting a battle with the ever-darkening thoughts in his head. James Cavani—Declan's idol and his hometown's claim to fame—is a renowned writer, director and actor. But despite his success, his past hasn't relinquished its hold of him, and through his younger sister's battle with drug addiction, he finds himself returning to a world he thought he had escaped.

Fantastic story, excellent plot, superb characters.
It actually is that good.
Well done Mr Bridges. Looking forward to the next one already.
My only ‘small’ critique would be, more/shorter chapters. I like to stop at the end of a chapter and the length of these ones gave me palpitations.

Quite a surreal reading.

While listening to this I had to keep reminding myself who the author was.
A very different book from the usual type.
If someone had asked me to read/listen to this then guess the author, I don’t think I would have guessed it correctly.
All in though, a decent story and well read too.
