This book is incredible. Britney is such a strong soul and I admire her resilience in the face of unspeakable adversity. I didn't expect such blatant violation of personal freedom to take place in California and to someone as iconic as Britney. This memoir is a beautiful and authentic proof that perseverance pays off and that we should never give up even during our darkest hours. Thank you Britney for being you. You are an incredible and a very strong woman. I wish life will only get better for you from this point on. Lots of love.

Very personal and vulnerable account of author's journey through self-help classics. It summarised the key points succinctly and saved me time having to read these books myself. I loved that the book was read by the author. I could relate to her story as she kept it honest and authentic. Thank you for sharing Marianne!

Men had built cities before, but never such a city as Diaspar; for millennia its protective dome shut out the creeping decay and danger of the world outside. Once, it ruled the stars. But then, as legend had it, the Invaders came, driving humanity into this last refuge. It takes one man, a Unique, to smash the legend and discover the true nature of the Invaders.

What a disappointment
Reviewed: 28-09-22
The book was performed beautifully, but the story was dull and boring. Characters were largely the same and as a result I didn't develop attachment to any of them. The book started off very promising to quickly turn into boring coming and goings without any reason and rhyme. The ending provided a conclusion to the mystery of the invaders, but was rather simplistic and I didn't really care about any of the groups of remaining human beings. Somehow, their survival didn't matter to me based on the way it was described. Really boring and dull story. I wouldn't recommend it. In my opinion, Childhood's End was million times better than this one.

A lot of fighting but still great
Reviewed: 24-07-22
I really loved the previous two parts but this one is primarily focused on the battles with the Mexica to secure Tenochtitlan by Spanish conquistadors. The book is amazingly written and detailed descriptions allow you to immerse yourself fully into the world created by Hancock. Personally, I found the amount of fighting described a bit hideous and boring. Also, felt like the ending could have done with a bit of an epilogue to explain what happened with the main characters such as Cortez, Malenal, Tozi and Guatemok.

A towering genius who'd already solved the problem of death by making memory recording possible, Cassia leads a team of scientists and problem solvers to a station floating in the harsh winds of Saturn. Their mission: to grow interstellar ships using nanobots in the planet's material-rich environment. She called them "monsters" to help sell the project to a skeptical public. Little did she know how prophetic that name would become.
