Great insight into a cultural icons life
Reviewed: 26-11-21
Brilliant life story written and narrated with excellent humour. It's unfathomable the number of projects Will has been involved in and the level of success reached in such a short timespan. It's clear that his hardwork and dedication to his craft has brought him to these heights. There is a great lesson to take from his success and perceptions about happiness which personally came when he truly accepted himself without the need of approval from others.

But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

The podcast format of talking with Goggins really gives the reader an inside view which was very interesting to hear. Definitely motivated me to work harder as an athelete and in my professional life.

Yearbook is a collection of true stories that I desperately hope are just funny at worst, and life-changingly amazing at best. (I understand that it's likely the former, which is a fancy 'book' way of saying 'the first one.') I talk about my grandparents, doing stand-up comedy as a teenager, bar mitzvahs and Jewish summer camp, and tell way more stories about doing drugs than my mother would like. I also talk about some of my adventures in Los Angeles, and surely say things about other famous people that will create a wildly awkward conversation for me at a party one day.

The audio book is brilliantly narrated by Seth and has so many outrageously funny stories which have happened to him. Easy to listen to and he gets into great details about some cool events in his life! Met him myself in Vancouver 2 years ago and he's such a chilled out and likeable celebrity. If you like any of his work you'll find this very enjoyable!

This book narrated and written by Dr Harry Barry helped me to understand my condition and how to cope with it. The compelling, inspiring (often comic) coming-of-age story of Trevor Noah, set during the twilight of apartheid and the tumultuous days of freedom that followed. One of the comedy world's brightest new voices, Trevor Noah is a light-footed but sharp-minded observer of the absurdities of politics, race and identity, sharing jokes and insights drawn from the wealth of experience acquired in his relatively young life.

Must listen Audiobook!

Trevor's narration is engaging as he tells the captivating story of his life as a South African child. As a comedian, he allows his humour to play light to his tough upbringing in the slums. He was born as a mixed-race child into apartheid, which was the segregationist policies against non-white citizens of South Africa. He gives the first-hand account of his difficult but entertaining story imitating the voices of the people involved along the way.
I highly recommend it as a great listen, but also as a demonstration of the sexism, and racism in the world especially in poorer areas.

Story
Sleep is one of the most important aspects of our life, health and longevity and yet it is increasingly neglected in 21st century society, with devastating consequences: every major disease in the developed world - Alzheimer's, cancer, obesity, diabetes - has very strong causal links to deficient sleep. Until very recently, science had no answer to the question of why we sleep, or what good it served, or why its absence is so damaging to our health. Compared to the other basic drives in life - eating, drinking and reproducing - the purpose of sleep remained elusive.
