Story
Tensions are rising in the run up to the island event of the year—the Vik Show. Not only has the secret recipe for Mrs Hay's peppermint slices been stolen, but someone has had the bad manners to leave a dead body in the distillery. And what does any of this have to do with the disappearance of Elsie the librarian? A perfect storm of past secrets and political conspiracy is brewing, and it's up to the local weight-loss group, Losers Club, to save the day.

Hilarious

I’m so happy I came across this series, this is the third one and I’ve chuckled and laughed out loud to all three. The writing is hilarious whilst covering serious matters like murder & kidnap. The narrator brings the characters to life - the police sergeant is brilliant. Can’t recommend these enough. Easter bank holiday and I’m just about to start the fourth. These really should be a tv series - definitely give Death in Paradise a run for its money
Keep em coming is all I can say!! 🎉

Everyone knows about Henry VIII’s 6 wives but apart from Katherine & Anne (1&2) I don’t think much is generally know about the rest. These books give a real insight into those ladies and their lives. Alison Weir brings them alive, thoroughly enjoying them. They’re fascinating.

Story
As she helps to nurse the dying Queen Elizabeth, Frances Gorges longs for the fields and ancient woods of her parents' Hampshire estate, where she has learned to use the flowers and herbs to become a much-loved healer. Frances is happy to stay in her beloved countryside when the new King arrives from Scotland, bringing change, fear and suspicion. His court may be shockingly decadent, but James' religion is Puritan, intolerant of all the old ways.
