Story
Ground-breaking, satirical and anarchic, The Young Ones introduced alternative comedy to mainstream TV, and made household names of its writers and performers. It ran for two series on BBC Two between 1982 and 1984, winning a host of devoted fans and a BAFTA Award for its second series. Collected here are all the dysfunctional foursome's manic adventures.

Mistake!

Sorry this really doesn't translate well to audio. So much of their comedy is visual. it was a mistake to produce in this format. it was painful to listen to and I will be returning

Story
The complete BBC Radio 4 legal drama, starring Claire Rushbrook and Clare Corbett: Behind Closed Doors is a courtroom drama with a difference - it centres around civil law, not criminal. In these nine plays, London barrister Rebecca Nyman takes on cases ranging from workplace harassment to the sensitive, secret trial of a terrorist and a morally complex 'right to die' hearing.

Story strong. Some performance irritating.

How disappointing
Reviewed: 15-05-22
I love a good crime - but there must be an element of realism for a plot to work. This sounded exciting and a different presentation style
Instead I found it boring and the actions of all the main players completely preposterous and unbelievable from the very first chapter.
I persevered to the end waiting to see if it became less ludicrous. It didn't.
I can't say much more without being a spoiler.

This is the best version

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This is the first audible dramatisation I purchased. It's a classic saga beautifully acted and will keep you entertained for hours. I purchased this in 2009 and still replay it.
I am writing this review because I saw that a listener had asked for a comparison between this and the more recent BBC production.
Absolutely no contest. The style and charm and acting of this version is vastly superior in every way.
What did you like best about this story?
The period style and language
What about Anna Massey and Alex Jennings ’s performance did you like?
Their performances drew me into the story and made the characters very real.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I felt sad that Lilly Dale was tainted by her false hearted lover
Any additional comments?
Just a great listen
