Have always enjoyed these books but this one , for me, spoilt by the language of Hoon. Considered it unnecessary & really he could have been omitted , as he added nothing to the storyline. Await next book but please can Hoon be shelved.🤞

Story
Orphaned at 18, a naïve and solitary Chris Pritchard joins the Metropolitan Police in search of a family, friends and a regular income. He is posted to Stoke Newington police station in London’s tough East End. Despite barely concealed contempt for her hapless new charge, his experienced instructor, WPC Dawn Matthews, puppy walks him through a journey, which is regularly amusing, frequently sad and occasionally bizarre. You will not listen to a more accurate account of how London was policed a generation ago.

Predictable and not helped by narrator,
just wanted it to get going, too much emphasis on personal lives.

Story
DCS Simon Serrailler has long regarded drugs ops in Lafferton as a waste of time. Small-time dealers are picked up outside the local secondary school; they don't have any information about those higher up the chain; they're given a fine or a suspended and away they go. And rinse and repeat. But when the body of a 22-year-old drug addict is found in neighbouring Starley, the case pulls Simon into a whole new way of running drugs. The foot soldiers? Vulnerable local kids like Brookie and Olivia, who will give Simon a bitter taste of this new landscape.

Enjoyed as usual, although not as much depth to the storyline unlike previous books. Steven Paceys narration,as always excellent.
Eagerly awaiting next chapter in the series, which hopefully, will be sooner rather than later.
