The MC's dysfunctional family is in debt and he is trying to make some money to forge a life for himself and his younger siblings.. Unfortunately... things going wrong.
He's given the choice between Prison or "A Soldier's Life" & he choose the later.

Better than the first
Reviewed: 24-10-24
I enjoyed he first book but felt the pacing was interrupted by the mageball chapters, thankfully book 2 flowed a lot better than the first.
Danny has advanced to his second year and we get a who done it murder mystery, similar kind of mystery to that of the first, but this one didn't feel as obvious.
Overall, really fun book and look forward to the next one!

Fun story about a mage who receives the summoner class, a very rare class which everyone is fearful off due to the history of previous summoners going berserk.
The book has a good cast and an interesting world. Will be giving the second book a listen.

Yes I received a free code for this audiobook but I had already read it on Kindle and have just finished reading Book 4 on the author's Patreon.
This series is amazing, i'm obsessed. This volume has a heavy slice-of-life feeling after the siege of Macha and builds towards the expedition into the lost city of Celora.
Book 3 is my favourite and have already read it multiple times,, so I can't want to listen to the audiobook

However, I am concerned that the length of each new release appears to be is getting shorter and shorter. Hopefully that will change in the future..
