I liked the narrator and the storyline closes up Feyra’s journey. It’s good to see the sisters developing and to get some closure on some storylines.

Feyre has undergone more trials than one human woman can carry in her heart. Though she’s now been granted the powers and lifespan of the High Fae, she is haunted by her time Under the Mountain and the terrible deeds she performed to save the lives of Tamlin and his people. As her marriage to Tamlin approaches, Feyre’s hollowness and nightmares consume her. She finds herself split into two different people: one who upholds her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court, and one who lives out her life in the Spring Court with Tamlin.

I’ve really enjoyed this book and the narrative. The characters rounded out more from the previous book. I’m glad Freya found her feet again. Tamlin- well, no spoilers.

Maudlin is not an easy character to like. She’s arrogant, selfish and self absorbed. However, through some trials she steps into her power and life changes irrevocably. I loved the characters and their journeys. It’s a beautifully written book that I couldn’t help but devour at every opportunity.

This is a rollercoaster of a ride. Jamie (10) and Jazz (15) are siblings living in a family devastated by grief. The effects of a terrorist attack has repercussions for many years. Jamie barely remembers his sister but lives in her shadow. His older sister barely eats, their mother has abandoned them and their dad is an alcoholic. Jamie goes against his dad's one rule and not only makes friends with a Muslim girl, he falls in love with her. Jazz feels the weight of being an older sister who survived her twin's death. As Jamie feels his way through a new school and and feeling love. His attempts to communicate with Sonya are frustrating and funny.
This book is at times heartrending, hilarious and thought provoking. David Tennant's reading is simply wonderful as to be expected.

Story
Aster lives in the low-deck slums of the HSS Matilda, a space vessel organized much like the antebellum South. For generations the Matilda has ferried the last of humanity to a mythical Promised Land. On its way the ship's leaders have imposed harsh moral restrictions on dark-skinned sharecroppers like Aster, whom they consider to be less than human.

oh this was delightful. It was such a joy to read a story about queer ND brown people. Honestly, this was a breath of fresh air. Aster is an interesting character with clear autistic qualities. I loved the way the book was performed with clear accents and different qualities. This was at times heartbreaking, gasp out loud inducing and riveting.
I listened obsessively and am desperately hoping there'll be a sequel.
