Whilst interesting, the complexity of the case and legal terminology left me somewhat confused. An interesting listen all the same but not riveting as any major plot twists are somewhat lost given I had no idea what was going on most of the time.

There are so many ideas or suggestions that resonate with me from the various contributors I found it frustrating I couldn’t remember them all. I listen as I drive so no change of writing them down. Eventually I bought the book so I can highlight all the pearls of wisdom that I feel will work for me.

As it says at the beginning, not all of this book will suit everyone. Nor should it. But when you hear ideas you like why not try them. I’m currently doing press-ups every second day to failure and within 2 weeks noticed gains. It’s often small changes that can lead to big advances. Definitely one I’ll listen to again.

Time travel in a non sci-Fi way. This book is a gripping tale of love and loss which keeps giving. I read this as it features on several ‘must read’ lists and I understand why. It’s not a book I would normally pick but we’ll worth the listen. Expertly delivered via the two narrators too.

As a non-trader but someone who is interested in the markets, some of this was over my head. It assumes a good knowledge of trading terminology. It does well to explain some along the way but understanding a butterfly in trading… not a clue!

I’d recommend it as a listen just for the genuine insight and varying viewpoints. It shows there are so many ways to make money. It’s quite heavy on FX trading.

Worst thing is the narrator reads both questions and answers and the fake laugh is very cringey. It’s not enough to stop listening though.

I was so taken by this story and the twists that unfolded. Loved the life like legal elements too.

The book started well with some useful insights and ideas but then lost its way. When he starts claiming his wife can park wherever she wants due to positive thinking and knowing there will always be a parking space where and when she needs it….come on. It then got very righteous and religious. Success has nothing to do with religion unless you need your congregation to pay you! Other books on a similar topic are better.

So much of this is just solid practical financial advice and it staggers me that this isn’t part of educations essentials. Understanding basic financial functions. More so than this it demonstrates how achievable financial independence is without winning the lottery or receiving a large inheritance. The focus on achievable goals for any income rings true. You could save a lot, but most importantly, save something!

The story was captivating from the outset and keeps you wanting more with every twist and turn. Constantly willing a turn of good fortune for Hugh Pilaster more and more is thrown at him from the awful Aunt Augusta.

Whilst occasionally predictable Follet once again intertwined a realistic and debating story around events of the time. So glad I found this author. I continue to listen and love his books. Definitely recommend.

I'm not really a science fiction fan and this is not something I would go out of my way to read. Having seen it high up in the charts I tried it for something different and was not disappointed. From the off it sucks you into a world that really isn't that far fetched given today's technology and love of online games. The easter egg concept was great and I was constantly wishing away the time at work to be able to sit in my car and listen on the journey home. Whilst in some ways a classic 'good' v 'evil' or small man against the commercial giant, you can't help but cheer on Wayne in his contest.

Towards the end I felt it dropped a little from the initial interest and excitement but there are so few books that can maintain that to the end. I can't think of another ending I would have been more happy with. Either way this was a great listen and makes me want to expand my horizons more. Something should also be said about Wil Wheaton, he was outstanding as a narrator. Clear, emotive and lively. I really rate this audiobook.

Very interesting and informative. Sooo many people to try and keep track of. At the time of listening found it fascinating but couldn’t tell you much about it afterwards other than murder was common place and violent to the extreme. Perhaps one to return to in a few years for a fuller appreciation.

John Lee’s delivery was top class as always!
