I listen to this again and again. It is one of Pratchett’s best in my view. I like the fact that the story is more intense and has more layers because it takes place in a theatre. The witches are magnificently themselves.

One of Sir Terry’s subtler stories in some ways. More reflective. Brought to life with such talent skill and subtlety by Stephen’s narration.

The narration detracts from the story for me. Story is everything. Such a shame considering the actors are such high calibre and imaginatively resourceful. In needed much more thought about how to use them.

Loved The narrative style. Perfect for the book. I loved the story too. Underrated Pratchett in my view.

I loved this book and the performance of it. I think, like Sir Terry, Stephen must be a three level thinker!
Highly recommended with a powerful philosophy at the end.

Wonderful book! Loved it! It is challenging, engrossing and powerful. I was fully emerged in a world utterly recognisable and yet provocative and complex. A book I will read again.

This is a terrifically paced thriller and a strong basic premise. If it hadn't been littered with a number of mental health half truths and inaccuracies it could have been a challenging read. Accuracy was compromised for pace. The book therefore reinforced popularise views.

A wonderful, acutely observed study of the life of a single woman teaching in a select girls day school. Her fantasies, preoccupations and girls are captured with versatility and vocal dexterity by Miriam Margolyes. She makes the book adorable all over again.

I loved this story. The characters became familiar friends as the outrageous, funny and at times endearing story unfolded. Beautifully written.
