Story
When Beth, Megan, and Joanne meet at university, they become inseparable friends who’d do anything for one another - even agreeing to keep what happens one shocking night a secret. Now in their 40s and outwardly successful, each of the three has dealt with what happened in their own way. But secrets and lies leave their mark. When Megan decides to tell her fiancé the truth about that night, it threatens to ruin the lives of everyone around her. But someone is prepared to do anything to stop that from happening....

Utter Tripe

This has got to be the biggest load of rubbish I have listened to in a long time!
The story was tenuous at best with no firm plot and an ending that was not conducive to the alleged character references throughout the story.
The only good thing about it was the narration; but Elizabeth Knoweldon is far too good for this garbage!

But when Max’s ex-wife arrives on the scene, ahead of Max and Libby's long-awaited nuptials, things go from bad to worse.

I think it was marginally spoilt for me by the narrator, who would be best placed reading childrens audio books.

Exciting but a bit frustrating
Reviewed: 15-07-21
The narration was outstanding but the story became quite difficult to continue listening to as Laura Elliot seemed too focused on drama and not so much on realism.
I understand that she has a lot of research experience in domestic violence but the main protagonist was rampaging around committing murder and mayhem without raising suspicions from the police or outsiders.
Overall it was well written albeit rather farfetched.

This is like a mixture of Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca and My cousin Rachel. John Telfer narrates it superbly but the story was too far-fetched. In the author's attempts to keep the reader guessing until the end, the story became frustrating and a tad absurd.

Story
This is a story from the Fall of the House of Usher collection. The horrors of the Spanish Inquisition, with its dungeon of death, and the overhanging gloom on the House of Usher demonstrate unforgettably the unique imagination of Edgar Allan Poe. Unerringly, he touches upon some of our greatest nightmares: Premature burial, ghostly transformation, words from beyond the grave. Written in the 1840s, they have retained their power to shock and frighten even now.
