Weihnachten steht vor der Tür und kommt Agatha wie gerufen. Denn sie will sich ein für allemal ihren Ex James Lacey aus dem Kopf schlagen. Sie stürzt sich so sehr in die festlichen Vorbereitungen, dass der Brief der Witwe Tamworthy völlig untergeht - obwohl diese behauptet, einer ihrer Verwandten wolle sie vor Jahresende tot sehen.
