Magically slow burning

Well, I love the author, so I really had to listen to this one!!
The setting is lovely, a little dark and a lot uncertainty due to their orientation. Always living with the risc of being uncovered - very authentically and relatable written. I also got the whole "magic meets steampunk" vibe with all the talk about mechanics.

I loved, that they have so much real teen interactions, and that they have to grow into their little family.
It didn't bother me, that Hughe appeart rather late in the book, and the slow burn between them is very relatable considering the timesetting.

All the possibilities for their future make my fantasy run wild, and I can't wait to read, how they will manage. ❤️

No tension, no conflict, no story

On paper, this has all the tropes and story parts I would normally love. Found family, will they/won't they, aloof Sorcerer being softend by caring for others? Check.
Sadly this book does absolutely nothing with this. whatever obstacles the main characters could be faced with are removed almost immediately as they come up. the outcomes of any situation are blatantly clear from the get go and there are neither surprises nor plottwists. There is no tension between the main couple since the author took great pains to make leave no grey area on their feelings. All of this lacks nuance and there is no actual plot in sight.

For people who are into mindless fluff, this might be worth a read, anyone else might want to spent their time and money somewhere else.

The reader did a good job and has a pleasant voice.
