This was so cute

When I say I want to read a romance novel, then THAT's what I MEAN. Please, the whole story was so satisfying to experience. It had NO unnecessary and forced drama. The issues that arose felt realistic and sometimes heartbreaking. Nevertheless, they made sense. Why? Because they suited the character and weren’t created to drag out the plot. I would also like to emphasise that the book has a pleasant length. It isn’t too short, not too long. Just perfect.

The main characters are Caroline, Hannah and Abby. Caroline is a successful lawyer and represents Hannah, who wants to divorce her husband. He's none other than Caroline's nemesis, so she helps Hannah without hesitation. During the divorce, the two women get to know each other better and form a friendship. Especially the bond between Caroline and Hannah’s daughter Abby is inseparable. The closer the two women get, the more Hannah opens up and reveals how much she had to give up to satisfy her husband.

I’m usually not into stories that involve kids, but here it just worked. Little Abby is adorable, and the scenes with her and Caroline were so sweet! Honestly, all the main characters are extremely lovable, and I was cheering for them until the end.

After “Those Who Wait”, Haley Cass has also convinced with this story. I look forward to many more books from her.

You need to listen to this beautiful story. I first read the book then listened to the audiobook. Definitely one of my favorites.

Not what I expected

I’m not going to lie, I kind of expected this to be a shallow story full of stereotypes, but I wasn’t looking for an extraordinary, deep story, so I thought why not give it a listen. I finished it within 2 days and now 5 days later I’m still thinking of it so I decided to write my first review. I thought the characters were very likeable, the story was cute and the slow burn was enjoyable. Were there a lot of tropes? Sure, but why do these tropes exist in the first place? Cause they’re fun!

So if you’re unsure about giving this book a chance, do it, trust me!

Heartwarming

I loved it very much, the dynamic between the characters is very cute and evolving beautifully. Abby and Caroline are just adorable. Being from a single mum home I get how important that is and it is beautiful. I am sure that this is the biggest reason Hanna fell in love with Caroline.

feel good story

Die Geschichte ist jetzt nichts was man nicht schonmal irgendwo gelesen hat bzw. recht vorhersehbar. Trotzdem ist es wirklich schön geschrieben. Das Hörbuch ist einfach toll als Auszeit und man kann es gefühlt man Stück durchhören, weil es trotzdem spannend und einfach ein schönes Gefühl macht.

Loveful characters, intense build-up

What a great story, so well written and beautifully narrated. Slow burn for sure, but the fireworks in the end make the suspense torally worth it!

slooooooow burn lovestory w/ wonderful characters

I really fell for the characters, especially Caroline. I expected her to be an ice queen but was pleasantly surprised that she wasn't one at all. she was really sweet and understanding both with the kids and Hannah

wasn't a fan of the narrator - the female side characters have the most annoying drawl and mostly sound the same.

Adorable story, but a bit rushed

I love the story. But the telling of it feels rushed. We get a lot of little vignettes, but rarely do we get time to dwell on them.

One of the most romantic audio books I ever listened to.

It was such a nice build up and you‘re able to really get into each character, feeling the tension and I just couldn‘t stop listening. One of the best audiobooks! And the way Lori Prince read the story just gave me goosebumps.
