  • Honesty with Comedy: Product of My Experiences
    Jan 12 2025

This episode explores the impact of various environments鈥攕uch as familial, social, and economic settings鈥攐n our development into adulthood. I was born in Chicago, Illinois, and lived there until I was 14 years old. Despite my brief time in the inner city, I encountered significant trauma, stress, and challenges, largely influenced by my parents' experiences and their own upbringing. After moving to a more stable environment, I faced even greater difficulties. Although our new surroundings were less hostile, my emotional and mental state remained entrenched in survival mode, which ultimately led me into trouble. I came to understand that changing my living conditions alone would not improve my behavior; rather, it merely exposed my negative mindset, as I no longer had a dysfunctional environment to mask it. At some point, we must make a conscious decision to break generational curses to reshape the future for the next generation.

So, as we go on this journey together, I hope you鈥檒l find comfort, hope, and maybe even a few laughs along the way. I鈥檓 so thankful to have you here. Let鈥檚 get started!

Thanks for tuning into the Honesty with Comedy Podcast, where the truth can be funny sometimes, but it鈥檚 always real. 馃帣锔忦煈忦煆锯潳锔br>

  • Honesty with Comedy: “That’s ah No No”
    Jan 12 2025

I experienced a heavy burden after coming to learn more and turning my life and ways over to god. I say that simply because our lord has so much love and compassion for us as his children; therefore, what we desire to watch on TV can produce uneasy feelings because those who are being paid to disrespect themselves on national television is heartbreaking to him. Therefore deciding to engage means that I find enjoyment seeing our brothers and sisters in Christ acting that way and us condoning such behaviors which is not our god. For example, me watching baddies on Zeus Network. Although I鈥檓 changing because of my commitment to the lord, the shows I watched were not acceptable in Christ eyes and disrespectful to his nature because of the cursing, fighting, drunkenness and other ungodly things. However, I had a grown folk tantrum and resisted the feelings going off internally such as feeling uncomfortable, agitated, shameful, disturbed and anxious inside of me. Therefore, I knew what he wanted me to do, but I didn鈥檛 want to stop watching. Since I became resistant to what wasn鈥檛 good in the first place, God decreased either my ability to feel his presence or he actually removed it to teach me a lesson that my desire to be covered by him should not be disregarded by an idol. It shouldn鈥檛 even be a thought compared to a relationship with my father, leader and most of all my Lord. Who choses a reality show before our creator, lord, father, protector, provider, unconditionally love and loyalty that lasts a lifetime馃う馃従鈥嶁檧锔忦煠斺.a 鈥渄ummy鈥 for sure馃槼馃槩

Please listen from beginning to end in order to experience funny moments, helpful suggestions and more importantly all the GREAT reasons to put god first in everything!!!!

鈥淚 will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Sovereign Lord, when I am proved holy through you before their eyes.

For I will take you out of the nations; I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit in you and move you to follow my decree and be careful to keep my laws. Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be my people, and I will be your God.鈥 (鈥淓zekiel chapter 36: 23-28鈥)鈥.AMEN馃槆馃檹馃従鉂わ笍

  • Honesty with Comedy: Conflict Inside & Out
    Jan 11 2025

This episode delves into the prevalence of both internal and external conflicts experienced by individuals. When confronted with external conflicts鈥攕uch as public altercations, arguments, or acts of aggression鈥攖here are often bystanders recording the incidents on their phones. Typically, this evidence serves as objective proof that is largely reliable. In contrast, what happens to those who endure internal conflicts? I have personally faced the harsh realities of internal strife, including prejudice, racial attacks, bullying, and verbal abuse from colleagues. This experience was profoundly challenging and traumatic, as it is often difficult to substantiate the truth of such situations.

We know that various organizations, including law enforcement and other institutions, tend to protect their own, regardless of misconduct. Recently, I encountered corporate 鈥渃liques鈥 that would go to great lengths to shield their members during any incidents. When one uncovers unfair treatment, professional sabotage, or workplace misconduct and chooses to confront a member of management, they inevitably become a target. Certain individuals in upper management often believe they are invulnerable and will act in ways that discourage dissent, knowing that speaking out can lead to severe repercussions.

Documenting such treatment is not straightforward, and expecting coworkers to act ethically or produce verifiable evidence is complicated by fears of violating workplace protocols. This apprehension contributes to a culture in which standing up against wrongdoing is fraught with uncertainty and fear. This dynamic allows perpetrators to feel privileged and above accountability. However, if you are certain that you are being wronged, regardless of your position, it is vital to trust your instincts and muster the confidence and strength to advocate for yourself, even if you feel like an army of one. As the saying goes, 鈥淥ne strong soldier can still be victorious against 20 followers.鈥/p>
