The Program Evaluation Division conducts evaluations of state programs and agencies. All evaluation topics are approved by the Legislative Audit Commission, and projects usually take six to nine months to complete.
Evaluation reports are usually released at a meeting of the Legislative Audit Commission or a standing committee in the Minnesota House or Senate. Reports are not approved or disapproved, or even reviewed in advance by the commission. Findings, conclusions, and recommendations are solely the responsibility of the Office of the Legislative Auditor.
