Police respond to Los Angeles-area barricaded suspect with a sword
Police said a call came in for a suspect chasing a person with a sword. It is believed the barricaded suspect may also be armed with a gun.

The philanthropic group named LA Rises rolled out Tuesday with $100 million in seed funding from Walter, the Mark Walter Family Foundation, and the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation.

The fire broke out near Laguna Road and Hueneme Road near the university, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.

Three victims are in stable condition, and three others are in critical condition. All of the victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Burn scars in areas of the Eaton Fire and Palisades Fire are of top concern, as the risk for mudslides, landslides, flash floods and debris flow is high in fire zones.
The fire was reported around 1 p.m., on the hillside just below the East Griffith Observatory Trail.
This is the third PDS warning issued within 14 days in the greater Los Angeles area, which is "unprecedented" for the region, according to the National Weather Service.
