This week, the European Youth Centre Strasbourg is hosting a study session with young activists, youth representatives from NGOs and representatives from local, regional and national authorities on “Positive storytellers,” co-organised with the Youth Social Rights Network (Y-SRN) and I-participate.
The study session will enable participants to develop their knowledge and expertise on the key human and social rights issues impacting refugees and migrants. Participants will discuss the key issues affecting the young migrants and refugees in their contexts and will familiarise themselves with the Council of Europe’s Recommendation CM/Rec(2019)4 Supporting young refugees in transition to adulthood.
During the study session participants will also engage in workshops focussed on storytelling techniques, communications methodology and the power of narrative, with input from experts in the field of journalism and youth advocacy.
Utilising the insights, knowledge and skills acquired through the study session, participants will develop impactful storytelling initiatives and communication campaigns that seek to positively change the perception and narrative towards refugees and migrants in their contexts.
