• 1. What is the Family Circle?
     Enjoy a unique experience with the Family Circle, where you can easily manage everything on the du App. Create your Family Circle for free by choosing the head of the family and adding family members to enjoy exclusive benefits such as discounts on your Postpaid Plan’s monthly fee, parental controls, data sharing and much more.
  2. Who is eligible for the Family Circle?
     You can create your own Family Circle or join an existing one if you’re an existing or a new Postpaid customer on our Power Plans, Smart Plans, Emirati Plans, New Emirati Plans or Data-only Plans. Please note that Data-only Plans cannot enjoy the Family Circle discount benefit.
  3. What are the Family Circle’s benefits?
     The Family Circle comes with exclusive benefits for the entire family.
     

     • Discount on your Postpaid Plan’s monthly fee: Members of the same Family Circle can enjoy a 10% discount on their plan’s monthly fee.
     • Data sharing:
       Members of the same Family Circle can use National or Roaming data directly from a family exclusive shareable data allowance.
     • Parental Controls:
       The head of the Family Circle will have exclusive parental control privileges over other members of the same Family Circle.

     You can enjoy loads of data to share when purchasing our exclusive Family Circle Data Sharing Bundle add-ons from our app.

  5. How can I create a Family Circle?
     If you’re an eligible customer, you can easily create your Family Circle on the du App. On our app’s main page under the ‘More options’ section, select ‘Create a Family Circle’ and follow the steps to create your circle by choosing the head and the members of your Family Circle.
     When creating a Family Circle, please note the following:
     

     • The Family Circle’s creation is only possible once you log on to the du App with your account credentials. It’s not available for quick view access.
     • Only one Family Circle is allowed under one account.
     • Only eligible lines under the same account can be added under the same Family Circle. Lines under other accounts cannot be added under the same Family Circle.
     • All members should give consent to be added under a Family Circle.
     • Total members under a Family Circle cannot exceed 5 lines. This is extended to 8 lines for UAE nationals only.
  6. What privileges can the head of the Family Circle enjoy?
     In a Family Circle, there can be only one head. The head of a Family Circle gets certain privileges over other members, such as controlling members’ usage and ensuring the safety of the family. As the head of the Family Circle, you can:
     

     • Add or remove other members
     • Purchase Data Sharing Bundles and set or modify consumption limits of the members from the shared data allowance.
     • Restrict or revoke access of the members to a selection of top popular apps while members are on mobile data.
     • Restrict or unrestrict members from purchasing add-on bundles.

  1. Can I change the head of the Family Circle?
     Changing the head of a Family Circle is not possible. To assign a new head, the existing Family Circle should be deactivated and a new Family Circle should be created by following the Family Circle’s creation steps.
     Please note that, deactivating the Family Circle will result in the immediate termination of all Family Circle benefits, member settings and exclusive add-ons.
  2. How can I manage my Family Circle?
     Its features and members can only be managed on the du App.
  3. How can I deactivate or leave my Family Circle?
     You can deactivate or leave your circle on the du App. Log on to the du App and click on the ‘More options’ menu and choose “Stop Family Circle” from the options. However, please note the below:
     

     • For the head: leaving a Family Circle will result in deactivating the plan completely with the immediate termination of all benefits, member settings and exclusive add-ons for the head and other members of the family.
     • For the members: leaving a Family Circle will result in the immediate deactivation of your Family Circle’s benefits.
  4. What will happen to my Family Circle if the Head or Family loses eligibility?
     If the Head of the Family Circle decides to do the below actions on the line assigned as the Head of your Family Circle, the plan will be completely disbanded with the immediate deactivation of all benefits, member settings and exclusive add-ons for the Head and the other members of the family.
     

     • Deactivation of the line.
     • Migrating to a non-eligible plan.

     Please note that for all members of the Family Circle, the above actions will result in the removal of that member from the Family Circle. However, the Family Circle will not be disbanded, and the remaining members can continue to enjoy its benefits.
  5. What are additional details and conditions of the Family Circle’s benefits and launch promotions?
     • Discount on Postpaid Plan’s monthly fee:
     

     • Members of the same Family Plan can enjoy a 10% discount on their monthly plan’s fee.
     • The Family Circle discount only applies from the 2nd member onwards. If you only have 1 member, no discount applies.
     • If you have 2 or more members, the Family Circle discount will apply from the 2nd highest plan’s monthly fee and onwards. For example, if there are 3 members in a Family Circle with a monthly fee of AED 200, AED 300 and AED 500, the discount will apply only to the lines on the AED 300 and AED 200 monthly fee plans.
     • You can only enjoy one monthly fee discount with your Postpaid plan. Bill payment vouchers are an exception to this.
     • If you’re already enjoying a higher monthly fee discount than the Family Circle’s discount, the Family Circle’s discount will not apply but you can still enjoy other Family Circle benefits while enjoying your existing monthly fee discount.
     • The Family Circle discount will be prorated in case your plan’s monthly fee is also prorated for a given month.
     • Data-only Plans cannot enjoy the Family Circle discount.

     
     • Data sharing:
     

     • The Family Circle exclusive data sharing is only available on special data bundles with a data sharing feature.
     • Data allowance of monthly Postpaid Plans cannot be shared between family members data sharing between Family Circle members is only possible if you have purchased a Data Sharing Bundle, which are shareable bundles exclusive to the Family Circle.
     • If you have a Data Sharing Bundle active on your Family Circle, members of the same plan can consume data from the shareable data allowance.
     • Data Sharing Bundles can be purchased only by the head of the Family Circle. Selection of Data Sharing Bundles are available to purchase on the du App.
     • Consumption of the members from the shareable data allowance can only be managed by the head of the family.
     • The head of the family can set individual consumption caps for each member of the Family Circle. Upon reaching this cap, members cannot consume from the shareable data allowance anymore.
     • Roaming Bundles are valid in preferred destination (Zone A) networks only.
     • Recurrent bundles renew with every new bill cycle unless you opt-out. If you purchase a recurrent bundle between two bill cycles, allowances and charges will be prorated for the first month.
     • Data Sharing Bundles have consumption priority over regular monthly plan data allowances.
