How does it work?

1. Step 1: Simply send an SMS ‘SEND’ to short code 1700
2. Step 2: Enter the International MSISDN where you wish to transfer mobile credit. (Format: Country code followed by MSISDN. E.g. 919812345678 or +919812345678)
3. Step 3: Choose from one of the available transfer amounts and confirm
4. Step 4: Successful message confirming the transaction. Similar Successful message will be sent to the receiver in your home country

Who’s Eligible?

All du Consumer Mobile Customers (both Postpaid & prepaid) are eligible to transfer mobile airtime. To know list of countries where you can transfer mobile airtime, SMS ‘LIST’ to short code 1700

Charges:

Once you enter the international number, you will receive a list of available denominations to choose your desired transfer value. There will be no additional charges.

  1. What is international Top Up Service?

     International Top-up Service is a service where all du Consumer Mobile Customers (both Postpaid & Prepaid) can transfer airtime from their du line to International mobile numbers of selected countries.

  2. How does International Top-Up Service work?
     du Consumer mobile customers (both Postpaid & prepaid) will be able to transfer airtime from their du line by following the below steps:

     • Customers need to send an SMS with the Keyword SEND to Short Code 1700 & follow instructions. E.g. SMS keyword SEND to 1700.
     • He/she will then be prompted to enter the International MSISDN where he/she wants to transfer airtime. Please Note: The MSISDN should be typed in the correct format i.e. Country code followed by the MSISDN. E.g. 919812345678 or 00919812345678
     • Then they have to choose from one of the 4 available transfer amounts that they would like to transfer by sending 1, 2, 3 or 4.
     • After that the customer will be asked to confirm the transaction and they need to reply with 1 to confirm and 0 to cancel.
     • Once the transaction is successful, both the sender and the receiver will get an SMS notification.
  3. How much time will it take for the airtime to be transferred to the international number once the customers have confirmed the airtime transfer?
     The transfers will take up to 10 minutes to deliver a top-up.
  4. Is there an additional service charge for the international Top-up Service?
     There is NO additional service charge for the International Top Up Service.
      
  5. For prepaid customers is the transfer allowed from all balances 'More Credit', 'More Time' &'More International'?
     For International Top-up, the transfer can only be done from ‘More Time Balance’ & Unlimited Balance only.
  6. Can the customers transfer to both prepaid & postpaid plans of the recipient?
     The recipient of the International Top-up Service has to be a prepaid subscriber.
  7. Which wallet of the recipient does airtime get transferred to?

     The airtime will be transferred to their Regular prepaid credit wallet.

  8. What are the countries that International Top-up Service can be made to?

     International Top-up Service can be made to all operators within the below 20 countries:

  1. What will happen if a customer transfer airtime to a country that is not on the list?

     In case a customer transfers Airtime to a country that is not on the list, then he/she will receive an SMS informing them that the country is not covered for the International Top Up Service.

  2. Is there a limit on the number of times that the receiver can get airtime in a single day?

     No there is no limit on the number of times a receiver can get the airtime transferred to them in a day.

  3. Is there any limit on the number of times/amount that the sender can transfer?
     Yes, there is a transfer limit of AED 150 per month applicable for all customers.
  4. What is the maximum number of transfers that du customers can do in one day?
     There is no limit on the number of transfers as long as the customer doesn’t cross the transfer limit of AED 150 per month.
  5. Can customers transfer the airtime while on roaming?
     No, customers cannot transfer the airtime while on roaming.
  6. What happens if the amount requested to be transferred is more than the current balance? Will the available balance amount be transferred?
     No, If the amount requested is more than the customer’s current balance amount, then the transfer will NOT go through & the customer will receive an SMS requesting him/her to recharge with ‘More Time’ balance.
      
  7. Can the airtime transfer amount be refunded if a customer has sent it to a wrong number?
     The transferred airtime can neither be reversed nor refunded. Customers are requested to check the country code, mobile number & the amount before they confirm the transfer.
  8. Can customers deactivate the International Top-up Service?
     No, the service cannot be deactivated. Customers can either use or not use the service.
  9. What should the customer do if they forget the message format?
     If customers foget the message format they can the keyword ‘HELP’ to 1700. This message will be free of charge and they will receive instructions on how to use the service.
  10. How can the customer check the list of eligible countries?
      Customer can send "List" to 1700 and he will receive the list of eligible countries.
