Flights to Hong Kong

The subtropical metropolis of Hong Kong is an exciting blend of dense urban jungle and dramatic natural landscapes.

One of Asia’s most popular destinations, this highly energetic city bursts out from the shores of Kowloon Bay. Its streets pulsate with life while its countless modern skyscrapers compete with towering mountains to create a striking skyline.

Start your exploration of Hong Kong with a stroll around Victoria Harbour, a beautifully designed waterfront that’s home to many of the city’s leading attractions. Tsim Sha Tsui’s Avenue of Stars is a famous strip where the city’s entertainment stars are immortalised in handprints and statues. This promenade also affords mesmerising views of the cityscape and is the scene of an enchanting nightly light show. See a symphony of lights, lasers and LED screens, positioned on skyscrapers across the water, dance to music in a captivating performance.

Take the historic Star Ferry – a charming nod to old Hong Kong with its immaculately preserved design – across the harbour to Hong Kong Island and ride the Observation Wheel for more breathtaking angles of the city. The most spectacular location on the island, however, is undoubtedly Victoria Peak, its highest point. Accessible via a magical tram ride that rises up the verdant mountainside in just 10 minutes, the 360-degree terrace at the summit is an unforgettable spot to watch the sunset. Elsewhere on the island, the Dragon’s Back trail provides a unique hike among Hong Kong’s stunning rural scenery, ending at the exquisite surfer’s haven of Big Wave Beach.

A trip to Lantau Island, Hong Kong’s largest island, is also a must. Here you can see the iconic Tian Tan Buddha, one of the world’s tallest seated Buddha statues. Soar above lush mountainous landscapes as you reach this awe-inspiring religious site on a cable car.

To the north-east of Lantau Island is the world-famous Disneyland theme park, one of Hong Kong’s two world-class hubs for rollercoasters and shows. The other, Ocean Park, boasts a thrilling assortment of rides in the mountains of Hong Kong Island.

Hong Kong is awash with Michelin star restaurants that combine extraordinary food with astonishing locations and views. There is an array of glorious dining options in the chic neighbourhood of West Kowloon, while Temple Street Night Market is a hotbed for delicious street food. Try Hong Kong classics like dim sum – hearty, flavourful dumplings - and wonton noodles with fresh, crunchy prawns.
