Andrew Garfield and Elmo are two best friends that anyone could have.

Case in point? The duo’s interview for Sesame Workshop, which E! News has the exclusive first look at.

In the adorable back-and-forth, Elmo asked the We Live In Time actor hard-hitting questions like what he thinks about pet rocks, who his favorite superhero is and what he would want to be doing with his life if he weren't an actor.

"It's a personal question, but I will answer it because it's you, Elmo," Andrew said after the Muppet's asked about how he likes his grilled cheese cut. "You accept me as I am. [I like it cut] diagonal."

When Elmo asked the actor, who has famously played Spider-Man in four different movies, who his favorite superhero was, Andrew said, "Come on, Elmo."

The Sesame Street character warned that Andrew should consider that Super Grover—a superhero Muppet—was "watching" the interview when sharing his answer to the question.

"Super Grover is watching?" the Oscar nominee pondered before looking into the camera. "Today, you are my favorite superhero."

The duo's only disagreement came up when Elmo asked Andrew "rocks as pets: yes or no?" in reference to his viral feud with his Sesame Street friend, Zoe and her pet rock named Rocco.

"Yes, why not?" Andrew answered before the fuzzy red monster bowed his head in disappointment. "Elmo is really not down for the rock friendship."

Elmo responded by saying "that's not Elmo's journey" before Andrew replied, "That's not Elmo's journey? That's okay, but it's Zoe's journey and that's so nice that you're being a really good friend."

In his final big question before asking the Social Network actor for a hug, Elmo wanted to know what Andrew would want to be if he wasn't "a very successful, highly accomplished actor."

Andrew said that he "would want to be Elmo's best friend."

"You already are!" Elmo responded, to which a visibly relieved Andrew said, "Ah, okay! I get to be both of those things? Yay!"

The pair's bonding moment came a week after a touching clip of Andrew talking to Elmo about grief went viral.

"I’m just thinking about my mom today," Andrew, whose mother Lynn Garfield died in 2019 from pancreatic cancer, said in the video posted Oct. 18. "She passed away not too long ago, and I miss her a lot."

"Sadness is kind of a gift," he continued. "It’s a lovely thing to feel, in a way, because it means you really love somebody when you miss them... it makes me feel close to her when I miss her."

He added, "When I miss my mom, I remember all of the cuddles I used to get from her, all of the hugs I used to get from her. It makes me feel close to her when I miss her, in a strange way."
