Welcome to the website of the FISC Subcommittee!
In 2022, corporate profits in excess of EUR 932 billion were shifted to low-tax jurisdictions, posing a substantial risk to public budgets. We must act to protect the integrity of our tax systems and maintain public trust in financial institutions.
Citizens and SMEs pay higher tax rates than multinationals, leading to unfair competition and tax avoidance. We advocate for a fair, progressive system to ensure everyone pays their share, supporting public expenditure and welfare system.
AI has the power to transform our economy, labour market and tax systems. Our greatest challenge is to balance labour taxes with other income sources as technology, capital, and assets. In the last century, fiscal systems aimed to collect resources for welfare states. The current global transformation is challenging the sustainability of our model, unless we provide the right solutions.
As Chair of the FISC Subcommittee, I will address these challenges and ensure citizens' voices are represented in tax matters at the EU and international levels.
