On 4 December, the Commission held an exchange of views with ENVI Members on the findings of the EU Climate Action Progress Report 2024 and the results of the evaluation of the Governance Regulation

On 31 October, the Commission published the EU Climate Action Progress Report 2024, which takes stock on the progress towards the EU's emission reduction targets. The report covers actual (historic) emissions and projected future emissions for the EU as a whole and for every Member State. It also includes information on different climate policy areas, EU legislative progress, climate finance and adaptation. On 11 September 2024, the Commission also published the report on the functioning of the Governance regulation. It assesses among others the contribution of the Regulation to the governance of the Energy Union, the long-term goals of the Paris Agreement, progress on the 2030 energy objectives, and the EU's 2050 climate neutrality objective.
