Komisja może zorganizować przesłuchanie z udziałem biegłych, jeśli uzna to za niezbędne w pracach dotyczących określonej tematyki. Przesłuchania mogą również wspólnie zorganizować dwie komisje lub więcej. Większość komisji organizuje okresowe przesłuchania, gdyż umożliwiają one wysłuchanie biegłych oraz omówienie kwestii o podstawowym znaczeniu. In accordance with Article 53 of Regulation (EU) no 2018/1725 (Data Protection Regulation for EU Institutions) “[t]he European Parliament and the Council shall appoint the European Data Protection Supervisor by common accord for a term of five years, on the basis of a list drawn up by the Commission following a public call for candidates. [...] The list of candidates drawn up by the Commission shall be public and shall consist of at least three candidates".
On 13 January 2025, from 16:00 to 17:15, the FISC Subcommittee will host a public hearing on the impact of taxation on gender equality in the European Union. The hearing is organized in the context of the European Parliament’s Gender Equality Week 2024, which took place from 2 to 5 December 2025.

The purpose of this hearing was to present and discuss the findings of the EMPL Pilot Project on 'Loneliness in the European Union.'
