The Committee on Security and Defence (SEDE) - in association with the Delegation for relations with the NATO PA (DNAT) - will hold an exchange of views withRadmila Shekerinska, NATO Deputy Secretary General, on deterrence and defence, defence spending and defence industry, on Thursday, 20 March 2025 from 10:00 - 11:00 in Brussels (room SPINELLI 3G3).

The Committee on Security and Defence (SEDE) - in association with the Delegation for relations with the NATO PA (DNAT) - held an exchange of views with Marcos PERESTRELLO, President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, on Tuesday, 18 February 2025 from 16:30 - 17:30 in Brussels (room SPINELLI 3G2).
28 January 2025. The Committee on Security and Defence (SEDE) - in association with the Delegation for relations with the NATO PA (DNAT) - held an exchange of views with James Appathurai, NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Innovation, Hybrid, and Cyber on the Baltic Sentry and hybrid threats, on Tuesday, 28 January 2025 from 9:00 - 10:00 in Brussels.13 January 2025. A joint meeting of the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) and the Subcommittee on Security and Defence (SEDE) - in association with the Delegation for relations with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (DNAT) - with an exchange of views with NATO Secretary General Mark RUTTE, took place on Monday, 13 January 2025 from 16:00-17:30 in Brussels.
NATO PA - 70th Annual Session:The 70th Annual Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly took place from 22-25 November 2024 in Montréal (Canada). Further information can be found on the NATO PA website.

On 13 January, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will participate in his first exchange of views with Members of AFET and SEDE as well as in association with the Delegation for relations with the NATO PA (DNAT). Discussion topics will include EU-NATO cooperation, efforts to strengthen NATO defence and deterrence, Russia's ongoing war of aggression against Ukraine and its implications for transatlantic relations as well as other regional and global security threats and common challenges.

A full, 10-member delegation of the European Parliament to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (DNAT) attended the 70th Annual Session in Montréal, 22-25 November. More than 250 MPs of the 32 Allies and partners engaged in discussions on the many challenges facing the Euro-Atlantic area and the rules-based international order. They also adopted 15 reports and 5 resolutions, elected the new Assembly leadership, including President Perestrello.

In order to facilitate a swift start into the new legislative term, the Parliament has prepared for the new Members a series of brochures providing a detailed information on the EP's role in the external policies of the EU as well as the work of parliamentary standing delegations.
