– After the vote:

  Péter Benő Banai, President-in-Office of the Council. – Madam President, honourable Members, Commissioner, ladies and gentlemen, as an official of the Hungarian Government, let me first thank you and express my gratitude towards the European Parliament for the statement on the Hungarian freedom fight from 1956.

As an official representing the Council, I take note that the European Parliament has just adopted amendments to the Council's position on the draft budget for the financial year 2025. I also take note of the differences in the positions of the two institutions concerning the draft budget for 2025 presented by the Commission. Consequently, in my capacity as President of the Council, I agree that the President of the European Parliament convenes the Conciliation Committee as required in Article 314(4)(c) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.
