Türkiye has just announced defence agreements with Somalia and Djibouti, which will include the provision of arms, ships and training. Somalia has also concluded a defence agreement with Qatar.

• 1.In the light of Ethiopia’s recent agreement with Somaliland, does the Vice-President of the Commission / High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy consider that the risk of conflict in the Horn of Africa has risen sharply?
• 2.Can the Vice-President of the Commission / High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy please provide an assessment of how Türkiye’s provision of maritime assets will impact the activity of the Houthi regime in Yemen?
