Limiting the impact of import duties on Russian linseed
22.4.2024
Question for written answer E-001191/2024
to the Commission
Rule 138
Tom Vandenkendelaere (PPE)
The new import duties on Russian linseed are having a major impact on Belgian linseed processors. The Belgian processing sector accounts for almost half of the 700 000 tonnes of linseed processed each year in Europe. The bulk of it comes from Russia.
- 1.What flanking measures does the Commission intend to take to minimise the impact on European linseed processors?
- 2.Is the Commission considering phasing in import duties so as to give the processing sector time to adapt its supply chain to this new situation?
