Η ελευθερία του λόγου και των συντακτών είναι για εμάς απολύτως αναγκαία για τη λειτουργία και την εξέλιξη των δημοκρατικών διαδικασιών και κατ΄ επέκταση των κοινωνιών. Τασσόμαστε ανεπιφύλακτα υπέρ της πολυφωνίας και της περαιτέρω ενίσχυσης των δικαιωμάτων των λειτουργών που εργάζονται στα μέσα ενημέρωσης και εν γένει της πολυμορφίας στον εν λόγω τομέα. Μας βρίσκει επίσης σύμφωνους η αντικειμενική ενημέρωση των πολιτών και θεωρούμε πως η αντιμετώπιση της παραπληροφόρησης θα βελτιώσει την ποιότητα της δημοσιογραφίας.
Την ίδια ώρα, όμως, η ενδεχόμενη παραβίαση και διατήρηση προσωπικών δεδομένων από τις πολύ μεγάλες ιστοσελίδες, αλλά και το δικαίωμα που τους δίνεται για λογοκρισία, κρίνουμε πως βρίσκεται ενάντια στην ελευθερία του λόγου και της πολυφωνίας.
Παράλληλα, τασσόμαστε ενάντια στο δικαίωμα που δίνεται για την κατασκοπία και παρακολούθηση τόσο των συντακτών όσο και των οικείων προσώπων τους από τα κράτη μέλη, τα θεσμικά και λοιπά όργανα και οργανισμούς της ΕΕ και ιδιωτικές οντότητες. Αποτελεί αναντίρρητο δικαίωμα οι συντάκτες να εκφράζονται ελεύθερα και χωρίς τον φόβο της λογοκρισίας και της παρακολούθησης.
Ως εκ τούτου, οδηγηθήκαμε στην αποχή.

Energy efficiency (recast) (A9-0221/2022 - Niels Fuglsang) EL

Αναμφίβολα, υποστηρίζουμε την αύξηση της ενεργειακής απόδοσης, καθώς μπορεί να συμβάλει ουσιαστικά στην προώθηση πιο αποτελεσματικών, βιώσιμων και προσιτών επιλογών, ενισχύοντας την ποιότητα ζωής. Ωστόσο, σε καμία περίπτωση δεν μπορούμε να στηρίξουμε πολιτικές που, προκειμένου να επιτύχουν την αύξηση της ενεργειακής απόδοσης, συμβάλλουν στη μεγέθυνση του κοινωνικού αποκλεισμού και στην επιδείνωση των συνθηκών διαβίωσης των πολιτών. Δυστυχώς, η στρατηγική που προωθείται δεν διασφαλίζει πως το κόστος για τις πολιτικές ενεργειακής απόδοσης δεν θα το πληρώσουν οι λαοί της ΕΕ. Επίσης, δεν προωθεί τις δημόσιες επενδύσεις αλλά συνεχίζει τη στήριξη στην ιδιωτικοποίηση του ενεργειακού τομέα, ευνοώντας το ιδιωτικό συμφέρον εις βάρος του δημοσίου συμφέροντος.
Για τους λόγους αυτούς καταψηφίσαμε την έκθεση.

Breaches of the Rule of law and fundamental rights in Hungary and frozen EU funds (B9-0257/2023) EL

Ως ΑΚΕΛ ξεκαθαρίζουμε για ακόμα μια φορά το αυτονόητο. Βρισκόμαστε απέναντι και σε συνεχή σύγκρουση με τη συντήρηση, τις αντιδημοκρατικές πρακτικές, την ακροδεξιά και τον φασισμό. Ούτως ή άλλως, η ιστορία μας αποδεικνύει περίτρανα το πιο πάνω.
Η κατάσταση που επικρατεί στην Ουγγαρία αναμφίβολα είναι προβληματική. Η συντήρηση και η αντίδραση εξαπλώνεται σε όλες τις πτυχές του κράτους από μια ακροδεξιά, συντηρητική κυβέρνηση. Βρισκόμαστε αλληλέγγυοι στο λαό της Ουγγαρίας.
Το συγκεκριμένο κείμενο όμως ξεφεύγει κατά πολύ από αυτό το πλαίσιο, καθώς έχει έντονα παρεμβατική διάθεση στα εσωτερικά ενός κράτους μέλους. Η δε διασύνδεση με τα οικονομικά συμφέροντα της ΕΕ, τον προϋπολογισμό και τα δημοσιονομικά, τους στόχους του ταμείου ανάκαμψης και των ευρωπαϊκών εξαμήνων αφενός προκαλεί μεγαλύτερα προβλήματα στον ίδιο τον λαό και όχι στην κυβέρνηση, αφετέρου εγκυμονεί κινδύνους ότι η όποια αντίθεση στις νεοφιλελεύθερες πολιτικές της θα θεωρείται ως κίνδυνος για τα οικονομικά συμφέροντα, άρα και δικαιολογία για παρέμβαση στα εσωτερικά των ΚΜ.
Ως εκ τούτου καταψηφίσαμε το σχετικό ψήφισμα.
