I voted in favor of this resolution because it reaffirms the European Union's commitment to gender equality and women's rights within the Union and in its external relations. EU leadership is important in the global promotion of gender equality and sexual and reproductive health rights, as well as in the fight against all forms of gender-based violence and anti-rights movements. Given the importance of promoting gender equality and women's rights, I support this recommendation to the Council.
