Delegations have voted to elect their Chairs and Vice-Chairs
All 48 interparliamentary delegations have elected their bureaus at their constitutive meetings between 30 September and 16 October 2024.
With all the Chairs elected, some delegations still need to elect their Vice-Chairs at a future session.
To be eligible, candidates for Chair and Vice-Chair had to be full delegation members and complete the declaration on awareness of conflicts of interest, the declaration of private interests, and the declaration relating to the code of appropriate behaviour.
Parliament’s Rules of Procedure state that the diversity of Parliament must be reflected in the composition of the bureau of each delegation. The Chair and the first Vice-Chair of a delegation shall not be of the same gender. Gender balance shall also apply to the other members of the bureau. Bureau members cannot all come from the same member state.
Here you can find the names of the Chairs and Vice-Chairs of each delegation. The list will be also available on the delegation websites.
The full list of delegations members is available here.
Background
Interparliamentary delegations maintain relations and exchange information with parliamentarians and a range of other stakeholders in third countries, regions and organisations to foster the EU’s core values: liberty, democracy, respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, and the rule of law. Only official delegations, duly authorised by the Conference of Presidents, are permitted to carry out activities on behalf of the European Parliament and to represent its position.
