American Airlines has a fleet of 900 aircraft. This includes the types Boeing 777, Boeing 767 and Boeing 757.
History
American Airlines' first scheduled flight took off in 1926 when a postal sack was flown from Chicago to St.Louis. The actual founding of the airline did not actually take place until 1934 when several smaller airlines merged.
European flight services began after WW II. In 1970, the airline took over Trans Caribbean Airways and expanded to include destinations in the Caribbean.
Network
From Europe, the airline has a network comprising 37 non-stop flights to the USA. From Paris for example, America Airlines flies to Boston, Chicago and Dallas. From the UK, the airline operates from Heathrow and Manchester airport amongst others.
