Travel tips for Malaga and the Costa del Sol
Fortunately, many of the major points of interest are within walking distance. However, if you are planning day trips, perhaps to the Rock of Gibraltar, book your rental transportation early. That way you can quickly become familiar with the area's parking and driving regulations. Some knowledge of Spanish is helpful in Malaga, but many residents speak English as well. Afterwards, join locals and take a siesta from 2pm to 5pm to recharge while most businesses are closed. Travelling around Malaga
Visitors have a choice of travel from the airport to accommodation and sightseeing. These include taxis, buses and trains. All are reasonably priced, a taxi will run at about 20 euro. Buses and trains range from 1.75 to 3 euros per ticket. If you are exploring other beaches and locations such as Aqualand Torremolinos or the Colomares Castle in Benalmadena consider taking the bus. Travelling by bus will be approximately 4 euro each way. A stay at a 5 or 4 star hotel with all the amenities, should be roughly 50 euro per night. More economical hostel or hotel options start at ten euro.
