Tips and tricks to help you find cheap flights from London to Majorca
Useful information about the flight from London to Majorca
Enjoy the exciting capital of Palma de Mallorca
Palma de Mallorca is the capital and largest city of Majorca in the Spanish Balearic Islands. This exciting city offers plenty of heritage to discover as well as restaurants, cafes, bars and nightclubs. It's a wonderful place for a family holiday.
The best time to enjoy Mallorca and its festivals
Palma de Mallorca enjoys a hot Mediterranean climate especially during the summer months from the beginning of May through to the end of September. The bathing season begins in May with holidaymakers who come to enjoy the sunshine and stunning beaches. Why not plan your visit to coincide with the Nit de Foc, Night of Fire Festival, which is celebrated around the 23nd to 24rd June? There's a wonderful firework display, live music and a great party atmosphere. Easter is widely celebrated on the island especially in the capital.
Important info before you travel
Before you travel how about learning basic Spanish and Catalan to get along with the friendly locals? Don't worry, English is also widely spoken so you won't have any problems finding the city's many attractions such as Palma Cathedral, Bellver Castle or the Royal Palace of La Almudaina. The time difference is GMT +1 between Mallorca and the UK, so set your watch before you land. Mallorca is generally cheaper than London whether it's dining out, buying food or shopping for clothes. The local currency is the Euro which can be bought before travelling and on the island itself.
Handy hints, tips and advice about arrival, accommodation and transport
Mallorca airport is approximately 9 km from Palma de Mallorca city centre. On your arrival there are various transport options to the city. Taxis into Central Palma will cost about 30 Euros while bus services which leave from the airport every fifteen minutes are usually 10% of the cost of a taxi.
