Local information: arrival, accommodation and transport
Milan central is a forty-five minute journey on the express train from Malpensa Airport. The train leaves the Airport's Terminal 1, Level 1 for Malpensa, it takes 45 minutes. Bergamo airport station is 1 hour away. The 73 or X73 bus service runs from Terminals 1 and 2 into the centre of Milan, the journey tales 50 minutes. Taxis are available at the airport exit 5 and Terminal 1 and 2 and will cost 100 EUR or thereabouts. The Orio shuttle buses run directly from the airport to Milan and take about one hour.
The city centre is quite compact and easily explored on foot. It has ample, public transport for trips into city neighbourhoods and beyond. Buses and trams provide an inexpensive way to discover Milan.
