When is the best time to holiday in Corfu? 

The most popular time to go to Corfu is between April and October, and this is when the weather is at its most reliable and ideal or a beach holiday. The island has a warm climate and winters are mild, although there is a certain amount of rainfall during winter months. Mountainous regions tend to be cooler.

Religious festivals are celebrated in Corfu. Easter is the most important festival in the Greek orthodox Christian church. During the Greek Easter celebrations, processions and festivities are held in most villages and town.

Autumn is also an interesting time to travel to Corfu in order to witness the winemaking on the island. 

Corfu: prepare to go

Passports are needed to fly to Corfu. There is a time difference. Prices on the island are generally lower than in the UK, a basic meal out costing around €8.

Accommodation varies in price from a bed in a hostel for  €12 or so to cheap hotel rooms for about between €35 and €40 a night.

Corfu airport: what are the transport options?

• Taxis from the airport into Corfu town will cost approximately 10 euros.
• Most visitors hire a car at the airport or prebook a car online before flying, which is highly recommended especially during peak season.
• The cheapest transfer option is to take a bus from the airport: number 15 serves Corfu town.

Buses are widely available to get around the island for those who are not planning to hire a car. Blue buses serve Corfu town and the surrounding area. Green buses cover other parts of the island. Passengers should remember to validate their tickets on the bus. The price for a single ticket starts from around €1.20.
