GSA’s system automatically generates new application program interface (API) keys before the key in use expires. No action is required to generate a new key. You can locate your API key in the “Account Details” section of your SAM.gov profile page.

If you use the key in any saved API calls, you must update those API calls to reflect the new key values. Any calls using an expired key will fail.

Before current API keys expire, the system will email a reminder that new API keys are available and to use the new key when the old key expires.
