The Idaho Department of Lands is committed to getting the right information to the right people at the right time to make informed decisions. In an ever-changing landscape of sources, technology, social media channels, agencies and maps, our mission is to gather the best sources of fire information for Idaho in one place. These sources are monitored, reviewed and selected by our IDL Communications Team which includes Initial Attack Public Information Officers all the way up to Complex Incident Management Team Public Information Officer Complex qualified staff. 

 

BE THE FIRST TO KNOW

Watch Duty is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization run by active and retired firefighters, dispatchers, first responders, and reporters who monitor wildfire reports and provide up-to-the-minute information. Trained Watch Duty reporters live and report from Idaho about fires across the state.  Idaho Department of Lands contributes to reports that cover fires in the jurisdiction of the Idaho Department of Lands.

Statewide fire reporting for wildfire management and public use. Displays fire information about all reported wildfires in Idaho in the context of Idaho Department of Lands Supervisory Areas. This map relies on data from the Integrated Reporting of Wildland-Fire Information (IRWIN) system. This map supports a number of fire reporting needs and provides benefits throughout the wildland fire community.
