With 152.5 million total views, the second installment of “Squid Game” has become the third most-watched TV season on Netflix, trailing behind only its own first season (265 million) and “Wednesday” (252 million).
Four days after its Dec. 26 premiere, “Squid Game” Season 2 had amassed 68 million views in four days, becoming Netflix’s biggest TV debut ever. A week later, it had picked up 126.2 million views across 11 days, more than any Netflix series has ever achieved in that amount of time. Suffice to say, the Korean-language deathmatch drama spent another week atop the non-English TV top 10 list, with Season 1 resurfacing at No.

Seth Meyers has subtly responded to Donald Trump after the President-elect called the late-night host “dumb and untalented” on Truth Social. On Wednesday’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” the host didn’t mention Trump by name — but with a wink and a nod, he noted Trump’s seemingly reluctant viewership.
“If you’re a Pete Hegseth fan, here’s the bad news: I’m about to do some jokes at his expense,” Meyers said at the start of Wednesday night’s “A Closer Look” segment. “But here’s the good news, he’s probably going to get confirmed as...

Brody Jenner opened up about his relationship with parent Caitlyn Jenner on the Wednesday, January 15, episode of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. The MTV alum admitted that the former pro athlete was gone a lot during his childhood. “I’d randomly see him — him at the time — here and there,” Brody shared. “Mom would tell me that I would write on cards, ‘Why doesn’t dad call me on my birthday?’ and things that I don’t even really remember.” In a confessional, Brody added, “I think not having Bruce around growing up and her doing that transition … it was tough just being her son. I just had a beautiful little daughter. I’m not living for myself anymore. I’m living for her. Everything that I’m doing on this course is going to make me a better person.” Despite their difficult past, Brody admitted that his relationship with...

With a whopping 40 The Challenge vets in one house in The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras, the personality clashes were as ferocious as they were inevitable all season long. So it makes sense that the post-finale cast reunion would bring its fair share of drama as well. And Wednesday’s (January 15) first installment of the two-part special was full of confrontations and tears as most of the competitors came back to break down the lengthy season in Vietnam. Here are our picks for the most electric moments of The Challenge Season 40 reunion so far. When Nehemiah Clark had an unexpectedly painful night… Poor Nehemiah. He apparently rode to the reunion on the struggle bus because the man spent more time shivering in stomach bug-suffering mode than on the stage. The first time he had to make a sudden exit, he left his microphone on and accidentally treated the entire...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the January 15 episode of Jeopardy!] A Jeopardy! Champions Wildcard Tournament player says that they planned to lose the game that aired on Wednesday, January 15, and his reasoning makes sense. Playing in the Champions Wildcard Tournament in this episode were returning champ Drew Goins (who’s in this competition following his Second Chance win the week prior), Jay Fisher, and Aiden Orzech. Goins had a runaway lead in the first two rounds, with Goins at 2,200, Fisher at 200, and Orzech at -200 at the first break and the second-break scores being Goins at 5,000, Fisher at 2,400, and Orzech at 400. Orzech had a tough time catching up and ended up with -2,400 heading into Final Jeopardy. But Fisher staged an impressive comeback and closed the gap to prevent Goins from winning with a runaway. Fisher’s score heading into the final was 15,400, and Goins’ was 23,400. It was an anticlimactic Final Jeopardy because no one wagered anything due ...

2024 was a year of behind-the-scenes changes at General Hospital. In January, the show announced that it had replaced co-head writers Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor and appointed longtime Gh scribe Elizabeth Korte and veteran writer Patrick Mulcahey to replace them. Months later, Mulcahey’s name was removed from the credits, and the show confirmed he was out. The team was reshuffled again and Van Etten returned as co-head writer alongside Korte. Here, for the first time since they were paired, Korte and Van Etten share their vision for Port Charles in 2025. How do you work together as co-head writers? What is your collaboration style? Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten: We have a collaboration in the truest sense. Soap opera requires generating such a volume of story that we never stop riffing. One of us may throw out an idea and the other will build on and embroider it.

Three years later, Dan Erickson still has no problem remembering the joy and relief he felt when “Severance” premiered.
“I knew that I loved it and saw it as something special, but I wasn’t sure it was going to become any kind of a widespread hit,” the series creator told IndieWire ahead of Season 2’s premiere. “When it hit the way it did, I was elated, but then also felt this sense of sophomore dread of not being totally sure if I could replicate it.”
Season 2 premieres on January 17, but the reviews are literally already in: certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and universally acclaimed on MetaCritic, an IndieWire Critic’s Pick that Iw’s Ben Travers described as “deeper, darker, and worth the wait.” But back then, as the confetti settled on Season 1, Erickson faced down a path more daunting than that one dark hallway at Lumon: how to do it again.

The Writers Guild of America (WGA) has unveiled its nominees for the 2025 WGA Awards, highlighting a mix of familiar Oscar frontrunners, unexpected entries, and the creative reshuffling prompted by ineligible contenders.
Sean Baker’s critically acclaimed “Anora” is leading the original screenplay list, which many consider the Oscar frontrunner in this category. Another strong contender is Jesse Eisenberg’s “A Real Pain,” a personal, semi-autobiographical drama that has been a critical favorite this season.
The inclusion of Justin Kuritzkes’ “Challengers” — a romantic sports drama starring Zendaya — is significant. After its high-profile shutout at the BAFTA Awards, this nomination could rejuvenate its awards season momentum.

When Anna Cathcart was cast as Kitty Song Covey in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, she didn’t know she’d play the character for the rest of her teenage years, first in two more films and now the spin-off series Xo, Kitty.
“I truly had no idea how much [Kitty] was going to change my life,” she told Tudum about vying for the role. “I had just turned 14 and at the time I was auditioning for a one-off little romance movie (that I absolutely loved). Xo, Kitty follows the 16-year-old youngest Covey sister as she attends the Korean Independent School of Seoul (Kiss) in Seoul, South Korea for her junior year of high school — the same age her late mother was when she also attended the school.

“Spartacus” is back — just without a Spartacus.
On Wednesday, January 15, Starz released the first-look teaser trailer for “Spartacus: House of Ashur,” a sequel to its original three-season “Spartacus” series, which started in 2010 with “Spartacus: Blood and Sand,” continued with “Spartacus: Vengeance,” and concluded in 2013 with “Spartacus: War of the Damned.” Between “Blood and Sand” and “Vengeance,” Starz made a six-episode miniseries “Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.”
(Spartacus, by the way, is a real historical figure. He was a Thracian gladiator and one of the escaped slaves who led an uprising against the Roman Republic in the early first century BC. Andy Whitfield played Spartacus for the first season and provided a brief voiceover for its prequel. At the time, he was battling stage IV non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Whitfield died in 2011; Liam McIntyre took over the role in Seasons 2 and 3. Kirk Douglas famously played Spartacus in Stanley Kubrick’s 1960 film.)

I’ve always been fascinated by watching Hollywood screen tests of icons before they were famous, but nothing prepared me for the spectacle of watching some of Saturday Night Live‘s most celebrated players watching tapes of their own auditions, raw nerves on display. Andy Samberg threw up during his first audition. Amy Poehler asks to stop after watching a morsel of her understated tryout: “That’s enough, oh boy,” she smiles. Fascinating moments like these are peppered throughout the four hours of SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night, Peacock‘s terrific behind-the-scenes docuseries that marks many of the remarkable highs and equally unforgettable lows of the revered late-night sketch-comedy variety brainchild of Lorne Michaels. Executive produced by Oscar-winner Morgan Neville, with a different director helming each of the roughly hourlong films, the series is especially enlightening in its ...

Southern Charm Season 10 has already been intense on several fronts. Craig Conover has his former besties Shepard Rose and Austen Kroll scratching their heads over his sudden disinterest in spending time on the town. Jarrett “Jt” Thomas has become a lightning rod for his cane-gifting and rumor-spinning antics. Plus, Madison LeCroy‘s husband is going through another concerning health scare. One of the biggest question marks of the season, though, is how Taylor Ann Green is going to handle the addition of Salley Carson, a newcomer to the series who’s been in the Charleston nightlife world for quite some time. And, well, this clip gives audiences a big clue about that. In TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek at Thursday’s (January 16) new episode, Taylor and Salley cross paths at a party, and, because it’s taking place at Salley’s own house, Taylor feels an obligation to say hello.

The Big Bang Theory fans are anxiously waiting for more information about the show’s untiled spinoff, and Mayim Bialik had an update to share that may disappoint some potential viewers. “I haven’t been contacted [to appear on it],” the actress told Us Weekly. “I’ve seen what’s been announced and I think that’s where a lot of people’s knowledge of it is right [now]. The View hosts had a lot to say about the first round of confirmation hearings for Donald Trump’s proposed cabinet members, which began in dramatic fashion with Pete Hegseth, the former Fox News star-turned-nominee for secretary of the Defense Department. On Wednesday’s (January 15) show, the cohosts reviewed some footage of his congressional hearing, particularly those moments in which Senate Democrats challenged his fitness for the job, his moral character, and the previous statements he’s made disparaging women in the military. “I think Republicans made a really bad decision to lower the bar for what they expect from the Secretary of Defense,” Alysa Farah Griffin said in response to the clips. “Usually, these people are concerned on a bipartisan basis.” However, she also knocked those senators who brought up issues of his alleged personal misconduct, saying, “I think Democrats still think we’re living in an episode of...

“Goosebumps” returned for its second season on Hulu and Disney+ January 10 — and even for an anthology series, the new season felt worlds away from the creepy haunted house aesthetic of Season 1. Sorry, Slappy: “Goosebumps: The Vanishing” 2 is all about body horror.
Well, not just body horror. But as twin teen New Yorkers CeCe and Devin discover, investigating a haunted fort from their botanist father’s traumatic childhood doesn’t typically end well. Although their dad (played by David Schwimmer) might be the one who learns that lesson most thoroughly when one sneeze dislodges his eyeball. Long before Cam Newton and Kayla Nicole were co-stars on Season 3 of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, the two were briefly embroiled in an online feud. Back in 2022, Newton made controversial comments about a woman’s place in the home — and Nicole fired back. “A woman, for me, is handling your own, but knowing how to cater to a man’s needs,” Newton said on the Barstool Sports Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast. “I think a lot of times when you get that aesthetic of, ‘I’m a boss bitch, I’m a this, I’m a that…’ but you can’t cook. You don’t know when to be quiet. You don’t know how to allow a man to lead.” Nicole then took to Twitter (now X) to slam the former NFL star’s comments. At the time, she was dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Severance is gearing up for its long-awaited return at the beginning of 2025 after concluding its Season 1 run in April 2022. With almost three years between seasons, it’s understandable that viewers may need a bit of a refresher about what happened in the final moments of Season 1’s last episode. As fans will recall, Severance follows a group of workers at a company that goes by the name of Lumon where they’ve agreed to undergo a procedure that “severs” their work persona from their personal lives, forming “outie” and “innie” personalities. When severed employees enter the Lumon building (and take the elevator to the proper floor), their innies are activated, essentially eliminating their outie memories until they exit the building. In the finale, the Macrodata Refinement team at Lumon, made up of Mark (Adam Scott), Helly (Britt Lower), Dylan (Zach Cherry), and Irv (John Turturro), came up with a plan...

This most recent back-and-forth involved Financial Times columnist and Morning Joe regular Ed Luce, whom Scarborough described as “a very good friend.” The pair debated President Joe Biden‘s final days in office and his cognitive capabilities, with Scarborough arguing that Biden still seemed up for the role when he interviewed him from the White House. “Did he occasionally jumble a few words or a few names?
