Keep reading to find out more…“During the live taping of the show, [Matt] is supposed to do a kind of a pratfall, and he actually dislocated his shoulder,” David recalled to Entertainment Weekly. “He went totally white, and he stood up, and I could see his shoulder was out. He looked like he was going to pass out.”
David went on to say that he remembers “immediately turning to the camera like, ‘Cut, cut, cut.’ That was genuinely frightening. You could see how badly hurt he was. And we had to stop filming that night, obviously, and he went to hospital.”

Hoda Kotb announced her farewell to Today after 20 years as an anchor in September 2024.
And we’ve got new details about her last day on the job and her surprising reasons for quitting.
Yes, apparently, Hoda’s salary may have played a part in her stepping away.

Though the talk show host and reporter has not addressed this report herself, the rumor floating around is that as the legacy anchor, she was denied one of the biggest perks in the game: more money.
Of course, that’s not the reason she’s giving for her departure; far from it, in fact.

This morning, I realized that, during the chaos of the holidays, I missed the fifth episode of Creature Commandos. Maybe my lack of excitement and forgetfulness speaks to my overall feelings toward the show, or maybe the holidays just took all my time. Regardless, now that two episodes of Creature Commandos are out that I haven’t reviewed, I figured I’d put both reviews into one article.
Spoilers for Creature Commandos episodes five and six below.
Episode Five
Episode five starts with a very strange and off putting scene in which the professor brought in to assist Amanda Waller is doing everything short of sexually assaulting one of her students, then shouts that the most interesting thing about Themyscira is lesbians. Thankfully, Frankenstein and Flag, who were watching through a window, point out how unprofessional and strange it is. However, this makes much more sense later in the episode.

It's not only a new month, but a new year as well! And that means we have premieres and releases on streaming to look forward to. There's actually quite a bit that's coming to streaming with big releases like Squid Game season 3, Stranger Things season 5, Gen V season 2, and many more. There's also lots of shows that are highly anticipated, but coming to an end in 2025.
I'll be honest, Hulu is getting off to a slow start with what the platform is offering in January 2025 and to kick off the year. And we're still waiting for an official The Handmaid's Tale season 6 release date. But, that doesn't mean there isn't anything good to watch. Here's two shows coming to Hulu in January 2025 you don't want to miss!

I still remember when the news that Disney had bought Marvel broke. Fans, primarily fanboys, all over the world cried out in terror that this meant their cherished superheroes would suddenly become (more) family-friendly, because "Disney" means joy and princesses to many people.
Of course, that didn't exactly happen, and those same fanboys mostly love the Disney distributed Marvel movies that came after: "The Avengers," "Guardians of the Galaxy," "Black Panther," etc.
Now, though, the latest "What If...?" revives those old Marvel fanboys' fears. The issue has a self-explanatory title: "Marvel & Disney: What If...? Mickey & Friends Became the Fantastic Four" #1, and Marvel has shared a preview of the comic with /Film. The issue's synopsis reads as follows:
"Your Favorite Disney Characters As Marvel's First Family! Mickey has stretching powers! Minnie can turn invisible! Goofy can burst into flame! Donald has become some kind of rocky... Thing! With these incredible powers,...

Family stories have been a television staple for as long as there’s been TV.
They tug at our heartstrings, make us laugh, and remind us that, no matter how chaotic things get, family — whether by blood or by choice — is at the core of the human experience.
But what exactly constitutes “family” has changed dramatically over the years, and television has kept pace, reflecting those shifts in compelling, sometimes groundbreaking ways.
Let’s dive in together and explore how these shows have mirrored our evolving views on what it means to be a family.
(CBS/Screenshot) The Golden Age of the Nuclear Family
Back in the early days of TV, family dramas were practically an extension of a Hallmark card: wholesome, harmonious, and just a little too perfect.
Shows like Leave It to Beaver, Father Knows Best, and The Brady Bunch painted a picture of the ideal nuclear family.

How about some exciting news to kick off 2025?! If you're a fan of Courteney Cox's Starz horror-comedy series Shining Vale, then you were sad to learn in December 2023 that the series had been canceled after two seasons. Not only that, the series was also stripped from the cable network's streaming service, leaving the underrated series in limbo.
Well, you don't have to worry about not being able to watch the show anymore. In a surprise announcement on New Year's Day, Shining Vale seasons 1 and 2 arrived on Max for streaming. As a series produced by Warner Bros. Television, the series ending up on the Warner Bros. Discovery streaming platform makes so much sense. If only it had happened sooner!
In the series, Emmy Award nominated-Friends star Cox plays writer Pat Phelps, who relocates with her husband (Greg Kinnear) and teenage children from Brooklyn to a seemingly haunted house in Connecticut.

The 2023 Goosebumps reboot series was a pleasant surprise for me. Despite my nostalgic love for both the original books and the campy charm of the 1990s TV show, I never figured that a more serious attempt on the material would be able to feel genuinely scary while staying true to the franchise’s iconic roots. And yet that’s exactly what they did.
The ensemble cast was compelling, the stakes felt real, and the cliffhanger ending left me eager to see what this creative team had in store for the second season. However, Goosebumps: The Vanishing opts to not address that ending at all and instead tell a completely new story with a new set of characters in a new setting. And while the story they tell isn’t bad, it definitely leaves something to be desired. Though please keep in mind that this only applies to the first six episodes,...

"That '70s Show" hasn't stayed quite as culturally ubiquitous as its fellow 90s sitcoms "Seinfeld" or "Friends," but that speaks more to how titanic its competitors were and remain. True to its name, "That '70s Show" was set from 1976-1980 (four years stretched out into twice as many seasons), following a group of six high school-aged friends growing up in Point Place, Wisconsin. The town is fictional, but the show's creators modeled "That '70s Show" and its characters on their real teenage experiences.
Running from 1998 to 2006, "That '70s Show" racked up an even 200-episode run. It's also the reason you know who Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, and Topher Grace are — with its popularity, a revival was inevitable, especially because by the 2020s, enough time had passed to update the central gimmick.

Jennifer Aniston turned down SNL in the ‘90s? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Now, you know how that story turned out, but what if Aniston had said yes to Lorne Michaels and the SNL crew? Well, in typical Jen fashion, it didn’t go down the way anyone expected. In fact, she practically turned SNL down with a side of boldness and sass.
“I remember walking in, and it was [David] Spade and Sandler, and I knew those guys forever, and I was so young and dumb and I went into Lorne’s office and I was like, ‘I hear women are not respected on this show,’” Jennifer Aniston recalled. Yep, she didn’t exactly hold back. She kept going, telling Lorne that she preferred the “good old days” of Gilda Radner and Jane Curtin. Not exactly what you’d expect from someone walking into the office of the man who made SNL a cultural juggernaut.

HBO Max Sitcom Streaming Deal (Photo Credit – Prime Video)
Once upon a streaming war, HBO Max flexed its financial muscles like never before. Back in 2019, WarnerMedia’s shiny new platform was all set to dish out $1.5B to secure The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men.
Why so pricey, you ask? These CBS heavyweights had never graced any streaming platform in full before. This was brand-new territory unlike Friends and The Office, which had already made their rounds on Netflix. And brand-new meant big bucks. HBO Max aimed to make these two household favorites exclusive, drawing sitcom fans by the millions.
Deadline reported that The Big Bang Theory alone was expected to fetch $1 billion. Throw in Two and a Half Men, and the deal’s value boosted to $1.5B. For context, HBO Max had shelled out $425M for Friends, and NBCUniversal had snagged The Office for over $500M.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S star David Schwimmer is best known for playing Ross Geller in the legendary sitcom. He was one of the first actors cast in the sitcom, was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award, and won a SAG Award for his portrayal. Schwimmer has since gone on to work on feature films, shows, and has even moved to the director’s chair.
Despite his large body of work, Schwimmer is largely known for his role on F.R.I.E.N.D.S and was reportedly annoyed by it for some time. He said that his interests lay in dramatic roles and was initially inspired by Sir Ian McKellen’s portrayal of Iago in his one-man show of Shakespearean plays.

Hey there, fellow Friends enthusiasts! Remember that iconic episode where our favorite six characters made their New Year’s resolutions? Of course, you do! We’re talking about The One With All The Resolutions, which aired on January 7, 1999.
A still from Friends | Credits: NBC
Looking back at this episode now, it’s incredible how the writers managed to create such memorable moments from something as mundane as New Year’s resolutions. Let’s dive deep into each character’s resolution and discover why Joey’s musical journey stands out as the comedic masterpiece of them all.

Having worked on several projects together throughout their illustrious run in showbiz, Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman have nothing but admiration for each other, which also translated into their performances together. In the early 1990s, the programming wizards at NBC realized they might be leaving advertising dollars on the table by not providing adolescents a Saturday morning entertainment bridge from cartoons to live-action sitcoms that reflected, in that garish sitcom way, their middle to high school lives. The only serious counter-programming threat in these hours was "Yo, MTV Raps!," so for kids who were more into bubblegum pop than hard-hitting rhymes, there was a demand not being met. And thus the Tnbc block was born.
The linchpin of the Tnbc block early in its heyday was "Saved by the Bell." What began as a spinoff of "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" -- which started on NBC before moving to The Disney Channel -- became a Saturday morning mainstay for both kids looking to do a whole lot of nothing on their morning off from school and hungover adults who knew better but...

There are a ton of potential streaming bundle combos that make sense, and I’ll lay out which ones I think are most likely here.
With streaming prices seemingly rising without end, bundles can provide an affordable option for customers who want to stack their subscriptions but don’t think they can afford to. Combinations of streaming services can help viewers save 40% or more as compared to what they’d pay to get the individual services separately, and can also help create more loyal viewers, since to cancel one streamer in the bundle means losing access to all its other content as well.
There were two big-name bundles launched in 2024. One combines Disney+, Max, and Hulu starting at $17 per month, while the StreamSaver package — only available to Xfinity TV and internet customers — includes Apple TV+, Netflix, and Peacock. But which streamers do I think have the potential to combine in 2025? Find out below!

Jennifer Aniston would become one of NBC's biggest stars as Rachel Green on "Friends," but the path to fame isn't always smooth. One of her bumps along the way (besides starring in the ridiculous horror comedy "Leprechaun"), was her role in a television adaptation of John Hughes' '80s classic "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." Aniston was perfect for the role of Jeannie, Ferris' sister, taking over from Jennifer Grey, who played that character in the film. Aniston's low, deadpan voice, pouty mouth, and sighs of exasperation perfectly captured Jeannie's sourpuss attitude and frustration with Ferris' antics — namely his uncanny ability to charm everyone he comes across and his nimble ways of wriggling out of trouble. She's a great fit for the role, but the television show itself? Well, it's not so great. It's bizarre, even.

If you were around in the '90s, you probably grew up hearing the familiar "Huh?!" sound of the decade's long-running sitcom "Home Improvement." Love it or hate it, the Tim Allen-led show about the Taylor family, led by overconfident Tim The Toolman, was pretty ubiquitous throughout its eight-season run, and it even won seven Primetime Emmys. But at some point in 1999, the show faded out and the "Huh?!" sound stopped popping up in primetime. It left behind a legacy that included Jonathan Taylor Thomas, the often-unseen nosy neighbor Wilson, and Tim Allen's alleged bad behavior and on-the-record terrible opinions.
Just in 2024, another layer was added to the show's legacy when co-star Patricia Richardson, who played Tim's long-suffering wife Jill, spoke to the Los Angeles Times about the 25th anniversary of the show's final season, revealing that a pay dispute ultimately led to the series demise. Like so many...

A lot of popular sitcoms had a slow and steady rise in quality and/or ratings, especially in the pre-streaming age. "Parks and Recreation," for instance, struggled hard in its first season, slowly improved throughout its second season, and only in its third season (once Adam Scott and Rob Lowe joined the cast full-time) did it truly hit its stride.
The hit '90s show "Seinfeld" also took a while to take off. The writers and actors didn't hit their groove until season 3, and it wasn't until its fourth season that it became clear "Seinfeld" was a full-on hit. For the first three seasons the threat of cancellation loomed over it, but around the point of "The Outing" (an acclaimed season 4 episode that coined the "not that there's anything wrong with that" phrase that spread even outside the fandom) it was clear that "Seinfeld" was here to stay.

Lisa Kudrow and Ray Romano recently surprised tourists at the Warner Bros. backlot in Burbank with a fun nod to their famous TV roles while promoting their new Netflix show, No Good Deed. The lighthearted moment unfolded near the iconic Friends couch, a must-see spot for fans visiting the lot.
In a video shared on Instagram by the show’s creator, Liz Feldman, Romano chatted with a group of visitors, reminding them that Everybody Loves Raymond was also filmed on the Warner Bros. lot.
“Everyone’s always like, ‘Oh, Friends!’ But we filmed just two stages down. Don’t forget that,” he joked, making the group laugh.

No Good Deed stars Ray Romano and Lisa Kudrow gave tourists at Warner Bros. lot a thrill when they showed up for photos at the famed Friends couch.
But Romano still had a word for those who believe the Burbank lot is only famous for the long-running NBC comedy.
“Hey I’m on the Warner Bros lot and we’re by the Friends couch,” Romano said on an Instagram video posted by No Good Deed creator Liz Feldman. “Everybody is, oh there’s Friends, and they forget that Everybody Loves Raymond filmed on Warner Bros. too. I just want to make sure they remember.”
“It’s not all about Friends,” he continued. “We were two stages down.”
Kudrow then appears at the couch and acknowledges that Friends first shot on Stage 5 — home of Raymond — before moving to Stage 24.

The 1990s were ripe with terrific sitcoms, namely "Seinfeld," "Frasier," "Friends," "Home Improvement," and "Everyone Loves Raymond." However, tucked between these shows was "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," a snappy, energetic, incredibly entertaining family comedy that launched star Will Smith to superstardom, was nominated for and won a slew of awards, spawned a modern-day spinoff series, and crafted a beloved theme song that Quincy Jones believes cemented hip-hop into pop culture. It also packed quite the emotional punch and it wasn't afraid to hit the dramatic beats.
"Fresh Prince" ran for six solid seasons, garnering positive reviews for its cast and strong viewership ratings. Nearly everyone involved used their time on the show to achieve fame and fortune on other projects, whether television, movies, or video games. While most of the main cast never rose to the same success they enjoyed on "Fresh Prince," they remained relevant in the decades following its conclusion in 1996. So,...

"Fantasy Island," Gene Levitt's ABC series that ran from 1977 to 1984, had a simple enough premise for it to be contained entirely within the show's title. An island where people come to live out their fantasies was enough of an idea to spawn two made-for-tv movies and seven seasons of fantasy drama, anchored by the great Ricardo Montalbán, who played the mysterious and distinguished Mr. Roarke. Roarke hosted the island's many guests and oversaw their fantasies coming to life, accompanied initially by his assistant Tattoo (Hervé Villechaize).
"Fantasy Island" became popular during its seven years on the air, and Tattoo's catchphrase "The plane, the plane," which he delivered at the top of every episode, was absorbed into the cultural lexicon. The show's popularity hasn't endured quite as well as some other series from the era, though, which is probably partly why Blumhouse's terrible horror getaway version of "Fantasy Island" failed...

A fun part of a long-running sitcom about people dating in their 20s is that the show has the perfect opportunity for regular stunt casting. "How I Met Your Mother" could casually throw Britney Spears into an episode or two without messing with the format, just like "Seinfeld" can have Keith Hernandez stop by to date Elaine for an episode. Of course, not every celebrity guest star is as big as Spears was, but even a minor star could still help get some extra viewers tuning in.
A case in point was the "Friends" season 3 episode "The One with Frank Jr.," in which Isabella Rossellini stops by the gang's coffee shop, playing herself. The central joke here is that Ross (David Schwimmer) had originally put Rossellini on his list of celebrity women he's allowed to sleep with without his girlfriend Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) getting upset about it. However, Ross has...

Even before "South Park" debuted, it was controversial. In the mid-1990s, Matt Stone and Trey Parker put together a pair of Christmas-themed animated shorts full of violence and foul language. The second short, 1995's "The Spirit of Christmas," featured Jesus Christ and Santa Claus savagely beating each other up. Several kids were killed in the melee. That short was distributed on bootleg VHS cassettes by multiple Hollywood celebrities, most notably George Clooney, and Parker and Stone suddenly had the ear of producers and muckety-mucks.
"South Park" debuted in 1997, and it retained all the potty jokes and shock humor as the holiday special. It was an instant smash, gaining attention for its daring attitude and edgy comedy. Many liked the pairing of shock humor with crude animation, lending "South Park" an anarchic, punk rock feeling. For its first few seasons, "South Park" was beloved by edgelords and intellects alike.

Ah, Christmas! The time of year when we’re all swaddled in tinsel, bingeing on eggnog, and singing carols with enough enthusiasm that could wake the dead. But amid the frenzy of wrapping paper and twinkling lights, do we ever stop to ask: “What is Christmas really about?”
Is it the presents? The food? The awkward family dinner where your uncle insists that a Christmas ham needs ‘extra love’? Or that one relative who still thinks it’s okay to serve fruitcake?
Friends | Credit: NBC
When you dig deeper into the heart of the holidays, you start realizing that it’s not about the shiny wrapping paper, the perfect gift that you found in the 11th hour, or how much you spent at the mall. So, what is Christmas really about?
The answer lies in one of the most underrated episodes of Friends: The One with the Routine, where Chandler...

A lot goes into creating a truly memorable sitcom. In a time where overlit studio soundstages play host to a frankly unbelievable amount of generic sitcoms, the magic of the genre's golden years seems to have been truly lost. Though they have been around for decades, the '90s seemed to be a real pinnacle for the format, with "Friends," "Seinfeld," and "Frasier" all representing some of the finest sitcoms ever produced. While the characters and the writing are inarguably integral to these shows enduring appeal, there's also the aesthetics to consider. All three of these series had a distinct look that was the combination of how sets were lit back then and the design of those sets themselves.

There are certain types of media that could have only come from one person. Something so specific and out there that only a beautiful, twisted mind like director Frank Henenlotter could have conjured it. Today, we’re talking about one of those movies. A movie that answered a question we’ve all asked at some point in our lives… ”What if Frankenstein were a hooker?” This is the story of what happened to Frankenhooker.
Director Frank Henenlotter hit the streets of New York City for his follow up to Brain Damage and Basket Case with a hankering for something different this time around. His newest film would stay in and around the horror genre of course but would lean further into the comedy aspect of his writing prowess. The idea of which came from an improvisation that took place at a pitch meeting for an entirely different film. According to Henenlotter,...
