Ben Myers (Richard Dreyfuss) is a former mob boss who has supposedly gone straight. His estranged daughter Nick Wallace (Mira Sorvino) is a cop working for Congressman Billings (D. W. Moffett). Someone steals Ben's hidden cash from his safe.
Richard Dreyfuss is alive and kicking into his late 70's. That's the main takeaway from this movie. Everything else is a mess. The writing is a mess. The filmmaking is poor. The camera work is trying so hard. It is a bad look on Adam Lipsius. There are some great actors here. I'm sure that they were lured by the chance to work with a legend before it's too late.

Benjamin 'Boy' Lane (Levi Miller) is a 15 year old Australian swimming phenom on the path to the Olympics. His life starts falling apart after his abusive criminal father Rob Bush (Jason Isaacs) gets released from prison.
I must warn anyone wanting Jason Isaacs to be a big part of this movie. He is in a supporting role here although it is an important one. The kid is ok although he's no James Dean. For most of the movie, he has two modes. He is either smiling or not smiling. It's not until the end when he tries to expand his acting. This needs the kid to do more and Jason Isaacs could have drawn that out of him. I'm sure that Isaacs was too busy to give them more than a few days.

Vivien (Bella Thorne) comes from a wealthy family, studies quantum physics, and has boyfriend Steve from the swim team. Roy (Benjamin Mascolo) is the poor kid on the team.
I don't want to hate on Mascolo. He's Italian and English is obviously not his first language. I think I know how he got the job. He's not a natural actor. He is very pretty and has all the brooding beauty in the world. At times, this is trying to be Terrence Malick, but mostly it ends up like a perfume ad. These characters are all in their heads. They need therapists to treat them more than anything. It gets a bit interesting in the second half, but it isn't all that compelling.
