Working closely with Dr. Mendelsohn, KiBiz Systems created multiple interfaces, customizing Ki Point, bringing Dr. Mendelsohn’s vision to life. When a new patient comes in, the process begins on the iPad with the Customer Intake Questionnaire (CIQ), and viewing of the 60 before and after photos used to show the menu of possible procedures. a Fee Agreement is presented, based on the options chosen on the CIQ and the patient is photographed with the iPad. From that data, a .pdf Contract is generated and printed wirelessly. It doesn’t end there. In treatment rooms the iPads are used to keep track of every activity so that Doctors are compensated properly, supplies and medications used for the procedure or surgery are recorded, the data is transmitted and used to control inventory. KiBiz integrated all of the above with the legacy system.

It was Thanksgiving weekend, Dr. Mendelsohn was online searching for his POS. He found Ki Point POS, and sent an email off to learn more about it. That he got a reply over the same holiday weekend amazed him. “That’s something I would do,” he thought.

According to Dr. Mendelsohn, “The initial transition was fairly seamless. As a guy who knew something about FileMaker, as a Mac guy, and someone who knew a little about servers, it was a pretty seamless installation. In some ways though, we’re still in transition”, he continued. “Our need is always growing and evolving. Implementing new changes and features, it’s part of our process – we’re always striving to become more efficient. I mean we can print from the iPad, we take patient’s pictures with the iPad, we send emails from the iPad, patients sign and pay on the iPad, we’ve got our fees on the iPad. We’ve worked out a system where a patient indicates they’re interested in something on the iPad, and if they’re not certain about it, we flag them in a different color and that saves me time, not having to talk with a consultant about the patient’s concerns. We don’t have to get up and go to the printer. We don’t have to waste time talking about things, the communication takes place over the iPads, as opposed to three of us standing there for 15 minutes. That’s 45 minutes of time we’re not wasting. It’s because of the technology. It’s always saving time and improving the flow of activity throughout the office. “

Being more specific about how Ki Point is impacting his practice, Dr. Mendelsohn goes on to say, “Because of the efficiencies in catering to patient needs, and our ability to move the process through the office efficiently, we’re able to see more patients. So much so that we’ve hired another doctor to help out with our non-surgical treatments and we’re in the process of hiring another physician assistant.
