The inaugural event was in 2019; Sony has held several more events since then. When Is the Next Sony State of Play Event? Sony hasn't announced the next State of Play yet. The previous event was September 24, 2024. Which Products Will Be Announced? Sony will give a general idea of what they'll talk about at the event when they announce it. For example, they'll say something like, "Updates on 20 previously announced titles for PlayStation 5 and PSVR 2." What Did Sony Announce at the Last State of Play? The September 24 State of Play showed off some upcoming PS5 and PSVR 2 software to head into the fall (and holiday) seasons. Announcements included: Free DLC for brand-celebration platformer Astro Bot, including new speedrun levels and additional collectibles.The Midnight Walk, a title with a hand-made clay, stop-motion look that is playable both with or without PlayStation VR 2. Hell Is Us is a scary-looking, 3D hack-and-slash title that combines both modern and fantasy aesthetics.Metro: Awakening, a post-apocalyptic horror shooter for PSVR 2. It release date is November 7.ArcheAge Chronicles is another fantasy role-playing game with multiplayer. It's out in 2025.Pokémon-like Palworld is coming to the PS5. This is an open-world, crafting/survival game with little monster friends that has already done well on PC. It came out September 24, the same day as the event. Lunar: Remastered Collection collects complete versions of two original PlayStation classic RPGs. It includes Lunar: The Silver Star Story and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue. Both versions have widescreen presentation and new graphics. It's out in Spring 2025.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge has a couple of new updates. The "Radical Reptiles" DLC adds new playable characters: Mondo Gecko and Mona Lisa. The game is also receiving a free, remixed soundtrack featuring artists like Keiji Yamagishi and Anamanaguchi.Keanu Reeves, who voices Shadow the Hedgehog in the third Sonic film, is joining Sonic X Shadow Generations (out October 12) as part of a movie-themed DLC set. This extra content is out December 12 and included with the game's Digital Deluxe Edition.Fantasian Neo Dimension is a fantasy-RPG that lets you build up multiple random encounters and deal with them all at the same time. It also features some beautiful backgrounds. This one has a release date of December 5 for both PlayStation 5 and 4.Developers from BioWare showed off some highlights of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which is out on October 31, including an encounter with a dragon. The second expansion set from 2023's Alan Wake 2, "The Lake House," tells the story of a doomed research outpost of the Federal Bureau of Control. It's out in October.The Hitman series is coming to PlayStation VR 2 in Hitman: World of Assassination. This one will be out in December.After a long absence, the Legacy of Kain series is returning with remastered versions of Soul Reaver and Soul Reaver 2, which will be available as a bundle. They're out on December 10 for both PS5 and PS4.Blumhouse Games' Fear the Spotlight takes inspiration from the PS1 era. It's a polygonal, stealth-survival horror title that's out October 22.Towers of Aghasba has you setting up your own island, Animal Crossing-style. Your friends can even visit and check out your work.Lego Fortnite is getting a splitscreen mode for multiplayer. Sony also revealed a Fortnite-themed controller for the PlayStation 5. Dynasty Warriors: Origins brings the series' trademark massive battles to the current generation. Its release date is January 25.Monster Hunter Wilds is the latest entry in the hunting and crafting series, which has players exploring and "taming" a wild land full of increasingly giant beasts. Its release date is February 28, 2025. Sony also announced preorder bonuses, including a digital art book and exclusive armor sets.Lego Horizon Adventures takes the extremely serious tale of humans versus robotic dinosaurs and makes it all cute and plastic. Sony revealed some new costumes for the game based on titles like Little Big Planet and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. It launches November 14.In more Horizon news, the original game, Zero Dawn, has a remaster coming for PS5 and PC. It's out October 31. Players who bought the PS4 version can upgrade for $9.99. RPG Stellar Blade is getting a photo mode, and the original soundtrack is hitting streaming services. Sony also announced new DLC that will cross Stellar Blade over with Nier: Automata later this year. Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Dino Crisis are coming to the PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog later this year. The Game Catalog is adding The Last of Us: Part One. The Chroma Collection of controllers and PS5 plates adds color-shifting hues to your hardware. It'll come in Indigo, Pearl, and Teal. Sony We got more updates about which games will get a boost from the PS5 Pro when it launches in November. The sizzle reel includes Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth, Horizon Forbidden West, Alan Wake 2, Dragon's Dogma II, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Resident Evil: Village, Demon's Souls, Gran Turismo 7, and Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Ghost of Yōtei is the followup to 2020's Ghost of Tsushima. It features a new protagonist and is out in 2025.
