‘Zenless Zone Zero’: Available Platforms and Download Guides

This article explains where to find MiHoYo’s popular new action game, Zenless Zone Zero, as well as how to go about downloading and installing it. Zenless Zone Zero is currently available to play on PC, PlayStation 5, Android smartphones and tablets, the iPhone, and the iPad.

How to Get ‘Zenless Zone Zero’ for PC

You have two options when it comes to installing Zenless Zone Zero on your PC: The Epic Games Store and a direct download through HoYoPlay (sorry, Steam users). To start downloading:

1. For a direct download, visit the official Zenless Zone Zero website and click the Download button in the bottom-right corner.

2. Wait for the .exe file to download, and then open it to continue with the installation.

3. If you’re using the Epic Games Store, sign in to your account and visit the Zenless Zone Zero info page.

4. Click the Get button along the right-hand side of the screen to begin the download and installation.

The PC version’s minimum requirements include:

• Windows 10 or newer
• At least a 7th Gen. Intel Core i5 processor
• 8GB of RAM
• An Nvidia GeForce GTX970 GPU

How to Play ‘Zenless Zone Zero’ on PlayStation 5

For the moment, at least, the PlayStation 5 is your only option for playing Zenless Zone Zero on a home console. To download it:

1. Visit the Zenless Zone Zero game page on the PlayStation Store website and click Add to Library. You may need to sign in to the store website using your PSN account first, though.

2. The game should start to download to your PS5 automatically, as long as the console isn’t turned off. If it is off, the download will begin once it finishes powering on.

3. Alternatively, turn on your PS5 console and open the PlayStation Store.

4. Navigate to the Search menu and perform a search for “zenless.”

5. Select Download from the game info page (this normally displays the game’s price, but Zenless Zone Zero is free).

6. Once the download has finished, select the game from the Home screen to start it up.

Zenless Zone Zero on PS5 does not require a PlayStation Plus account, but your console will need an internet connection.

How to Play ‘Zenless Zone Zero’ on Mobile Platforms

If you’re familiar with downloading Android or iOS apps, you should have no problems installing Zenless Zone Zero.

1. On Google Play, search for “zenless.” The first result (published by Cognosphere PTE, Ltd.) should be what you’re looking for.

2. Tap Install to begin downloading. If you have more than one Android device linked to your Play account, you can tap the arrow next to Install and select multiple devices to install to.

3. Tap the Zenless Zone Zero app icon on the Home screen to open it.

4. In the iOS App Store, search for “zenless” and look for the result published by Cognosphere PTE, Ltd.

5. Tap Get, then tap Install in the pop-up window that appears.

6. If prompted, type in your Apple ID password and tap Sign In.

7. Once the game is finished downloading, tap the Zenless Zone Zero app icon to start it up.

Zenless Zone Zero for iOS requires iOS 14 or later, as well as an iPhone XS or newer or an iPad with at least 4GB of RAM and an A12 chip or above. The Android version requires Android 11.0 and up or HarmonyOS 4.0 and up, 8GB of RAM, and either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or higher, a Dimensity 1200 or higher, or a Kirin 990 chipset or higher.

Do I Need a HoYoverse Account to Play ‘Zenless Zone Zero’?

Zenless Zone Zero and other MiHoYo games (Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and others) require an online connection to play them, and thus, do require an account to access them. Setting up a HoYoverse account is quite simple, thankfully. Once you've made one, you can log in to Zenless Zone Zero on other platforms and carry over your progress (i.e. cross-saves).

You’ll get a prompt to sign in or create an account when you try to run Zenless Zone Zero for the first time. If you already have one, log in using that account’s details and password and you’re all set. If you don’t have one yet, you’ll need to register.

You can register a new HoYoverse account with an email address, Google account, Apple Account, or social media credentials like Facebook or X/Twitter.

Is ‘Zenless Zone Zero’ Different on Other Platforms?

Content-wise, you'll see zero differences between versions of Zenless Zone Zero. In fact, by signing in to multiple versions using the same HoYoverse account, you can easily hop between them and maintain your progress. That said, your experience may differ slightly depending on your platform of choice.

While you won’t miss out on any characters or levels or modes or events, the device you play on will affect your control scheme. PS5 players can experience the city of New Eridu with a PlayStation DualSense controller. PC players will have keyboard and mouse controls by default, but can also use a connected controller.

The mobile versions are where the biggest differences are, and not just because they use the kind of touch-based controls you’d expect. Touch controls aren't quite as precise or easy as using a controller, but they get the job done just fine—and you can pair a wireless controller with your smartphone and use that if you prefer.

The bigger difference is in the visuals. Zenless Zone Zero hasn’t sacrificed too much for the sake of mobile, thankfully. But if you jump between versions, you may start to notice environmental details popping in, slightly less impressive lighting, and other minor detail reductions.

Is ‘Zenless Zone Zero’ Available on Nintendo Switch?

In a June 2024 interview with Pocket Tactics, the game’s producer, Zhenyu Li, was asked about bringing the title to Nintendo’s hybrid console.“Of course,” he stated, “we are hoping to have our game on all platforms.”

This answer was shortly before the game’s release in July, but thus far we've seen no sign of the hinted-at Switch version. So while it’s not unreasonable to assume we’ll see Zenless Zone Zero on Switch at some point, we don't know when that may be.
